Framebuildin'

Frame set for Catdrew is almost done. Getting a purple rattle can over the pink for sick patina action. Flatbar monstercross bike for 2.3” tires and can be geared or SS. Fork has plenty of zits.

Also some dude had an old mtb frame at the powder coaters to get done in blue. They got it mixed up with mine and also did it in hot pink. Hope he likes it.

There’s no shade of blue better than that shade of pink.

Notice also the bb was left in. Wonder how well it spins after getting cooked at 400f or whatever for an hour haha.

They should tell him it’s a gender reveal and his wife/gf is having a girl.

I wonder if there would be any stresses on the bb shell when having the whole shell and bb heated like that?

This pink powder reminded me of that time I had pink bar tape and a customer at the bike shop I worked at told me I should probably change it because it was really gay.

He was also a Nazi. Like actually changed his last name to that of his fav SS officer. Fuck that guy.

385 minimum And I think 20 minutes? I’m probably wrong

That’s probably more accurate than my estimation.

Either way I don’t think it would do the grease in the bearings any good.

And depending on where and when the grease came out it won’t have done the coating any good either…

Donzo.

Been meaning to do this for a while, finally got some other projects wrapped up. 7005 rim brake road frame.

Chucked the HT up in the lathe to shave off some of the excess. Hopefully this is enough momentum to finish the frame by the end of the year.

Took almost 100g off the headtube. They come so much thicker than they need to be for some reason.

Mitered the ST too.

All yours, @rancid_burple

Thanks!

Did the DT/BB miter and drilled the bottle boss holes in the DT and ST.

Smooshed the ST end of the TT back to 35mm round from the 40/30 full oval it was before. Cut both miters on that.

Gonna finish the miters on the DT next and then mock up the front triangle.

are you using it “vertically” ?

The ovalized side will be at the headtube and the oval will horizontal I guess you would say. The tube was full oval I just didn’t want to deal with filling in gaps to join it to a 35mm seattube so I made that end round again.

oh duh for the “hangover”

like how LHTs have a 31.8 TT squished to be a vertical oval at the ST end

Yeah, the alternative is to have the seatstays meet the “hangover”, I think low and cdale do that on their frames. Would require a double pass and some grinding to look good.

I also have big thighs and a narrow pedaling stance so wide seat clusters are very annoying for me. Figured it would work out better this way.
