Hey, Fookers -- aka, the pedal thread

I like these cheap VPs that Riv sells and have them on two bikes.

The Race Face ones also seem nice. I have them on one bike, just haven’t ridden them enough yet to form an opinion. Available in fun colors.

The reflectors sold me on these ones. Thanks!
also got sucked into my biannual Rivstore browse, what a weird place. So glad they’re still doing their thing

I go to my neighborhood bike shop and get what they have. Usually odysseys.

Just ordered these for my partner and she seems to like them.
She rides with shoes that have ultra thin soles so the full platform is as close as she is going to get to wearing stiffer shoes.
couple colors available

when did ebay switch from ‘related items’ and ‘other items from this seller’ to all sponsored items on a listing page?

I have thrown the same pair of twisteds onto just about every bike I’ve ever had at some point, usually to get it rolling. They are still cool, but the super concave shape does make my feet hurt after a while, since I always ride platform pedals in vans/other slipper like shoes.

the Riv Clems are smooth but a tiny bit on the small side

RF Rides have been solid and lasted longer than than similar looking Fookers and such

Looking for pinned plastics or just something wiggly to jam between your toes and replace the birks altogether?

anyone have extended use on the oneup composite pedals? same/better/worse than Chesters?

I’m looking for a composite MTB pedal and grip combination in matched colors, for a lanky ~9 year old kid

like I have this PNW pairing myself

but is there anything with smaller pedals and/or slimmer grips?

Check Deity stuff, that’s what my hambike has pedals and grips, and the pedals are not terribly huge (tho definitely not small).

I’ve run them for a while, seem pretty fine

One up started doing a small pedal. Don’t know the dimensions but there it is.

ooh the “friendly pin” option might also be good developmentally

and they have 30mm grips in matching colors

Oh yeah I didn’t even notice that. Kinda rocks.

Odyssey twisted pedals on both my kids bikes and they have some sweet grips too.

I’ve just been backing the pin out until it’s flush with the nut. I might have to try flipping the pin over.

I’ve been through a few pairs but deity deftrap are my preference now.

The oneup bearings/internals seem less durable than the chesters I have and I think the body design is probably weaker too (I’ve had a full bearing implosion/seizing/pedal fall off the spindle on one pair, and a body snap in half from (an admittedly biiiig) pedal strike on another). I do like the feeling/grip much more than chesters though, at least when they’re still working

Check out the SDG Slater series stuff. My 9-year old has been on this stuff for a few years with her last two bikes. It’s really great.
