Hey, Fookers -- aka, the pedal thread

REI outlet has Chesters for $40 too

I’ve found Oneup composite pedals to be relatively affordable and really good. Verrry big platform, which is probably especially nice if you have big feet? (I don’t)

I was initially worried about the slight convex shape but I haven’t noticed any issues/much difference in IRL riding. Would recommend

I still love the plastic bonty even though I broke 2 of them.

scooped, thank you

You can probably still do this anyway via REI or by bringing them back to Trek but buying them at a Trek store sure makes getting new ones easy if you break them.

Back when I went to work, I rode by a Trek store every day. It never occurred to me to go inside.

I bought Fookers for my gf’s bike. I’m usually not super sensitive to stuff like this but they didn’t seem to spin as nice as Chesters even just out of the box. I got those REI clearance Chesters when I needed a new pair of pedals.

Is there a tldr? I’m not watching a 13m youtube video.

no real conclusions are made. There are some small differences to the interior construction. The guy is mad that fooker just made some pedals and didn’t do any R&D etc. He is going to do a long term review with them.

What’s your upper limit on YouTube videos? These days, the longer the better atmo.

No kids: infinity.
Kids: between 30 seconds and 1 minute.

I don’t have time to listen to some dillhole’s disorganized ranting about stupid shit. Usually it’s something that can be described with a paragraph that takes me 30 seconds to read and I don’t have to find a quiet spot to listen.

This whole video over writing post-literate society is really confusing for me. Who has time for that shit?

Something about Seth irritates me a bit, tho I’ll still watch his trail build videos

As someone who grew up watching many hours of TV a day, I don’t actually see much difference. I definitely don’t see kids as being any less literate these days than they were in the 90s.

I suppose I feel like I make time for videos I want to see and don’t pay much attention to videos I don’t want to see, regardless of length.

Also, I have no children to distract me. So there’s that.

He annoyed me at first. Less so now. He’s definitely got some privilege that he doesn’t fully address. But maybe that’s just because o don’t know his backstory. Seems like a mtb-bro I could drink a beer with. I like how he mixes the ability to ride really difficult features with the humility to talk about failures without trying to make himself sound like a badass for crashing a bunch but still riding.

???

we’re talking about a 13 minute video about pedals, right?

In general. I see plenty of people posting videos as if everyone had time for that shit. Naw dawg.

@Timarchylime yeah, I grew up reading instead of watching TV. I don’t have time to read books either. I am tarcking from my phone while the baby naps on my chest in a dark room, which kinda sucks for reading.

A 13 minute video about pedals that could have been a 3 minute video about pedals with no significant loss of content (if the 2nd half was similar to the first half, after which I stopped watching) or photos + text that would also be way less than 13 minutes.
