so many turkeys out this morning
Awesome weather, and fall colors are juuust starting to show up around here, also had an amazing mid-ride lunch at the Prescott Kwik Trip.
kid rode a whole fucking mile before i put her on my bike. no pics of her bike strapped to mine but bigant+voile gets r done. she got so fancy with her zigzags that she located the pedal against the reference datum a few times. thankfully no crashes. we’re working on trail etiquette but it’s so dead on this trail even at peak nice day that it’s a great place for her to get used to it
rode the curly handlebar bike tonight after work, fun and fast but kinda rough being hunched over 24hrs after deadlifts, then my bar tape came loose, still fun
Slowly stretching out my loops; this one was 40 miles, and it didn’t completely kill me. Given any luck, I’ll be able to work up to 600k again before the next time I’m (struck by a car|felled by a bleeding ulcer|god-knows-what-else-fells-elderly randonerds)

Bike in front of many many murals on a very long bench!
Stand of trees on the beach.
Bike in front of a hole in the ground that used to be Heartland Café but has just been a hole for like three years

went up into Westchester county today to see about the foliage and roads near the Croton reservoir. them changes have started,
wish I’d brought more than my phone but my camera batts were dead
trying to do few more rides on this bike before taking it apart and moving several parts to a different frame.
Friend’s BBQ was a convenient starting point to check out a big petroglyph site. Made it back right when the tri-tip came off the grill.
The most perfect mountain bike weather. Bike and fitness felt great, thought I was going faster than I ever did. Turns out I was in zone 4 for over 35 minutes over the hour and a half ride. Whoops. Also 2017 me riding a rigid single speed is still faster in a lot of spots.
A dry run with some kit today. I hate the gravel kings but they are really robust and went really well in some horrible rocky stuff.
