I went for a ride today and here are some photos

Rode the circle of doom yesterday. Most of the elevation comes from a single long climb ~30 miles and ~7000ft, the rest is riding rollers on a huge chunk of Angeles Crest highway. Couldn’t have had more perfect weather. Bit chilly/windy up high, but pleasantly so

After almost 3 years taking up space on my repair stand, I finally got around to fendering/di2ing/bartaping the gravel®©™ bike (still with fat tires, but only 42mm worth of Clement USH instead of the horrible Horizons that I had in the before times) so I had to take it out for a test ride to see what potentially fatal flaw it might have.

Surprisingly, there weren’t any! An annoying flaw in that something on the wheel is scraping against something on one of the fenders (probably the front fender, because that’s only attached at the crown and the stays), and that my front rack is sitting way higher than the tire/fender, but nothing big.

Halloween group ride, did these religiously in my 20s, first one I’ve been to since 2015 but the weather was so pleasant I couldn’t resist.

Local weekly group ride fell on a Halloween! This ride gets 350-400 people weekly. It’s a lot of fun when Bluetooth speakers are not competing for dominance.

Is this a SCUL thing mission?

edit: but the bikes in the photos look too normal now that I think about it

“Bike party” thing, though skul was definitely strongly represented in the mid 2010s, I didn’t see any of those magnificent weirdos this time. Bike scene in Boston has changed a lot in the past decade.

Supspouse and I took a nice sunday spin to an art book fair, then hit target for a laundry hamper and cat treats. Perfect 70* fall day.
