From a few days ago.
News to me, our friends live right off of dodge but I haven’t been up there this calendar year. Is this an alt route for you evading the construction on the channel? I’ve just been avoiding riding north since they started that and don’t have much Evanston entering routes besides that or lakeside.
Tomato’s seen some shit…
From the top of Mt Beacon, doesn’t the trail network stretch pretty far to the south? I remember there being a lot of jeep roads at the top last time I hiked there.
Yep. Popped out at melzingah trailhead last week. Very meandering and not steep tho so I only do it if I have some uninitiated folks in tow.
Slightly moist today. Great grip except some scary grip on rocks. Felt a bit of flow, which is hard since I haven’t been to the bike park at all this year. All turns earned.
About 1/3 of the way down:
Photo taken here and then into the fast part. Speedo on this section today was the wind noise building by my ears.
I got too busy last night to upload my photos from Black Rock yesterday morning. I guess smoke swept into the valley yesterday afternoon, so it probably doesn’t look like this now.
I’m done tweaking the Marino. It’s brought back a lot of the confidence I had.
The sun was out!
Caught 4 miles of this road in the middle of grading, this was mostly during a climb and was very unpleasant to ride in.
Snaps from a 1.5 tarck century birthday ride on the single speed today. Exploring around, rode to the beach, saw lots of interesting orange county residents and a fun little table top im pretty sure the sur on kids made
Pre WFH ride this morning. I had forgotten how crap bar mounted lights are in the dark on singletrack.
Took the omega dork bike for a ride. Pretty happy with it. Fun and smooth ride even with 23s. I spent most of the time on the front of the bars so it may be nice to put drop bars on. But it was nice to scoot back into omega dorkus mode.
Found a little “mountain bike trail” carved out of the woods along the mup with little berms and all. Went and did some underbiking on the ODB (omega dork bike).
Sweet view bro
We did this 40mi overnight as a single ride. It was a little tougher than we thought it’d be, but not worth doing it as an overnight. It was fun, but didn’t have much in the way of views. Roads were great except for a little washboard.
Also, both bridges are in the first 5 miles if you follow the planned route. Not much to look forward to after that.
The last pic was after a short car ride. Since we had to drive back to camp I said I’d only have one margarita. Luckily it was mostly ice.
Rode it to the gas station so I can ride my Vespa.
There is a crack in the cap, got gas everywhere when fueling up the scooter. Realized why I ride bikes instead.
in no order- future dog park, menu at a cafe that’s a bar in a old barber shop, the pond at the park, they redid the mural and i have no clue who they are, the pond at the park
Damn, I’ve been wanting to check that one out. I guess I overlooked how short it was, though I’m so out of shape now maybe that’s a good thing.
