There’s something about this wingback chair in a muddy alley…
A quick tootle around the neighborhood.
Was supposed to do a big ride with my visitors but the weather turned to shit. Ended up doing 3 hours locally. Suse lost her 1000$ garmin in a crash and didnt notice it was gone for 15 mins. Luckily we found it.
Memorial Ride for a fallen cyclist. Great cause and turnout but was cold AF doing 8 mph when it’s 40 out
hell yeah. ima get me one of those too I think
I think you should. Obviously my understanding of squish bikes is zero but it sure feels like a lot of bike for 2 bongs.
that and the absolutely purple colorway have me pretty sold. new job signing bonus can’t come fast enough!
I would have purple’d if the Large was in stock
It’s so fun to just plow through everything on a full squish. Sometimes i have to remember that i can’t do that on other bikes.
I’ll throw my thoughts on the bike in the MTB thread
Rode an old bike for the new year.
Windy and 50 degrees - glad I didn’t try anything more ambitious than a ride on the bike path. I had nothing in my legs.
Treated myself to a leisurely last ride of 2023 yesterday. Shortest possible gravel loop ending in town at my friend’s bakery. They do biscuits and gravy on Sundays and getting there before they sold out was my main concern.
I seen a birb one timeMet up with a friend after. Underbiked the only trail that’s not really fun to underbike but is where we have tools cached. Moved tools to future/new trail and did some trail work. New trail is going to take a long time and a lot of work but will connect two of my favorite trails and make for over a mile of continuous single track. Really starting to feel like we have a trail system now as opposed to mingle-mangle of short trail sections.
Its still holidays here so I am getting out for some rides. Just local stuff but realised I only have about 60 days to get fit before the Sounds 2 Sounds bikepacking event on March 4th. Will suck going back to work next week. No recovery for any rides I can cram in.
Went out with some buddies on some more local loops. Met some old codgers on road bikes at the Radar Dome. One was 78, one 72, one 65. I love it when I meet people like this. They are planning on doing the North Island part of the Tour Aotearoa next year. First ride back on my B-17 in a long time. I love that saddle.
Fuck… if I can do that in my 70s……
Edit: re read that… the old guys didn’t do 6k feet of climbing
