(I know there are some … questionable … choices on this bike setup, it lives interstate and has leftover bits cobbled onto it)
Up in Cairns and loving the winter weather of 17°C minimums. Early start and a Japanese pastry to finish.

Something about CoMotion’s name and logo makes them inherently, permanently within the Fred/Dad Venn diagram. Like, the bike itself embodies ‘white socks that are far too high up the calf’. I don’t think having a slightly goofy setup is bad, I think it’s necessary.
Co-Motion cross bikes are exclusively ridden by masters racers who podium the masters field, the cat 3 field and then do OK at the single speed.
Fred vibes, but also they ride 200 miles a week.
Tell me more about your gearing
Heat dome fucking up my commute. There was dry pavement in the tunnel the evening before. The river is very high right now.
But this is cool now.
Two ships passing in the night once again, we were having coffee north of there near the rock wall (jetty? breakwater?)
Doh!
We were so close. On the very south end of the beach.
We went to kidical mass!
I would have taken them! I love garlic scapes.
Me too, but a lot of people don’t seem to know what they are or how to use them. I had to explain them to the one person who took some.
Umm. 42x11-28 from memory. X9 short cage, 10sp red right shake and SS left lever. should fit a wider cassette so i can tackle the longer climbs up here.
I got this up and running again this morning, so naturally I took three bottles of wine to my sister’s as a shakedown
i want to know about garlic scapes. there was a sign i saw on a ride 2 years ago about free scapes but i was already tired and trending towards late so i didn’t investigate any further
They are great, kinda like a cross between garlic/green beans/asparagus. I just sautee them, especially nice with some grilled salmon and wild rice or risotto.
