I went for a ride today and here are some photos

Did you eat the tacos on the boat?

No but I did eat a bagel by the river.

A wise choice. Those tacos can’t be good

It was moist in the woods today

Rode to a spot on the Lewis & Clark River I’ve been wanting to fish. Ate some mushrooms and didn’t catch any fish.

Rode to another spot 10 miles up the road and hooked into some cutthroat.

Do it

Wasn’t sure where to put this but I figure why not here. I came across a photo while visiting Illinois for his funeral.

My grandfather went on a ride in Kansas around 1940 and here’s a photo:

High Point (a couple of miles after Smiley)

It is crazy how good the gravel is around here

It’s true. If you aren’t familiar with the area, I’m not sure if it’s clear how accessible it all is.

I have a friend who wants to make a route for backpacking.com that looks something like this:

Poughkeepsie to New Paltz
New Paltz to Kingston
Kingston to Kerhonkson
Camp at Lundy
Lundy to Sam’s Point
Sam’s Point to Mohonk
Mohonk to River to Ridge
Back to Poughkeepsie

It would be a good overnighter that cyclists could easily do from the city. And you could make it longer by routing up into the Catskills.
