Did a post-work mtb night ride for the first time in far too long.

For the first time I was very annoyed to use my Crank bros m19. What is happening to me.

I have a PNW stem with the built in go pro mount that I used to mount a Sinewave Beacon 2 on my mtb. First time really doing a night ride yesterday and i tried to nudge it to point down a bit more as I had a bit of light gap right in front of my wheel and that was making switchbacks spooky. Mount just went totally loose, so repair was necessary to keep going on. My little decade old tried and true Crank Bros tool is too wide to spin when tightening the bolt on the side of the mount facing the handlebar, and almost too short to reach the bolt that tightens to the faceplate that actually came loose. I was dying to just have a ball end L wrench, but here I was in the pitch black turning these bolts a 1/4 turn at a time to just get my carcass off the mountain.TL;DR, thinking of switching my tool game after touting the Crank Bros m19 for so long. Existential crisis imminent.

Leaning towards a 1/4" drive setup with parts and pieces from Fix-it sticks and / or Spur cycle.I won’t do the Topeak kit, met the owner in Taiwan and he was super racist to my coworker and that’s forever left a bad taste in my mouth.

Sorry that happened, but good to know. I have a couple of their 1/4" kits and won’t be buying another one from them now.
