Did a decent sized chunk of our local gravel ride my friends organize. They had a photograper that got a few of me that luckily don’t portray the struggle of comning off the flu to an abrupt heat wave.
Took a large quantity of bike parts to donate to the bicycle collective since I had to go there anyway to pick up the Hope hubs purchased the previous weekend. Biggest/heaviest load in the bike, and longest trip, so far and it was large enough to cause me enough actual anxiety to pull a few things off for a future trip. Turns out it would have been fine. All I took was this crappy pic of me riding back home carrying an empty box. Almost a perfect day for a bike ride.
Had a meeting after work then spent some time prepping for a field trip tomorrow. Rushed home to change clothes then ride out to my grandson’s baseball game. Legs felt really good and I wonder if taking a break from the bike and doing yoga sometimes and lifting other times are responsible for this sensation. It’s not like I’m fast but it felt more like ten year ago me, ya know?
anywho, game was good (9 year olds, third game of the season) holy shit are there a lot quick decisions these kids have to make. It’s a lot of work! And they played great! (soooo much improvement compared to game 1) People who coach these kids are rad people.
After the game, I was looking at the map of my location and found some old (seemingly) unused paved community path followed by a short gravel section that spit me out right at the eastern end of one of my regular neighborhood loops. Lol, I had no idea it was there.
Found a cool free library and copped a new book before riding the rest of the way home
