Work is dumb, let’s ride bikes instead
Wee doddle out the front door, some road, some single track a little gravel
Gravel bike with a dropper is a beautiful thing. I’m really stoked on this bike, it climbs well, feels stable on single track and is fun. I need to adjust the shifting and get new pedals, the ones on there kinda suck.
Shout out to Jones bars
I always ran them set up with normal length grips and lever placement, they really feel better with the longer ESI grips and the levers up near the cross bar intersection.
Yeah the long grips and long brake levers are really crucial to the Jones system. I actually sold my shorter length Paul levers because I found they don’t play nice with Jones bars.
It’s been just the opposite for me. My hands liked being on the outsides of the bars and it sucked having to keep moving them to shift and I couldn’t get longer brake levers set up to get the brakes to start biting enough before they hit the bars or my fingers. I’ve been running the narrow Jones grips (still wide at 165mm) on the wide Jones bars with two finger levers and have been thinking about cutting the grips down another 10-15mm.
I was one of the first people to cross the new bridge near the Mukilteo ferry
Sometimes our public works team need go pro footage of our bike infrastructure so I ride around at work. It’s weird to think that normal people don’t just ride on the road with cars and stuff. On the way back to my office I hit the single track near my office.
It’s pretty cool working in a park with massive trees .
First kinda long ride since I almost cut my leg off.
Pour one out.
Mid ride waterfall hike
Zoom in for wily guy.
Was gifted one of those little Charmera toy cameras a while back. I actually like the pictures it puts out and have been bringing it on rides when I remember. Here’s a few from a long ride up to the Mt Quimper fire lookout a while back.
Did a Salt Spring Island overnight last week. Check out my friend’s Diamondback with the matching John Tomac Magura rim brakes.
