I was almost too afraid to ask why the front bike has 2x cages on the fork and 0x cages on the frame. But then the rear bike having 2x cages on the frame and 0x cages on the fork hurt my feelings so bad, here we are.
Ha!
It’s because that bike with the fork cages is patiently waiting for a fullsize framebag.
I put fork cages on when touring.

same ride again but later in the day. fun 7 miles with some gravel some paved and some dirt road. just enough climbing to make it a hills ride, and fuck i’m out of shape
Just the classics
Also the second i leaned the bike against the garage when i got back the front tire sprung a leak
Work has been crazy busy, so I haven’t been able to get a ride in. I got a nice, chill 15 miler in yesterday evening and stopped to grab some beers before the store closed. Felt good.
man- i haven’t had a dead rise or whatever that jawn is called in a while. was pretty decent!
This is dead rise Gose! First time having it. Pretty good, but I could really only have one. Dead rise with crabs is
Jimeney Christmas that bike is purdy.
Jelly of that e-Steps + dropper collab. Thinking about MOAR POWR for ours, but hard to stomach the cost of a new Steps model and I don’t actually want to sell our unpowered version
The e-assist isn’t as essential here as it’d be in hillier places, but It’s nice to have it available for bigger loads and when the kiddo demands that “papa turn the motor on!” The head and taillight are also powered off the same battery so there’s only one thing to worry about charging.
Dropper is the cheapest KS I could find on Jenson (e-ten?), can’t think of a better $80 upgrade for a cargo bike.
Also I wish I had a strider to learn on when I was 2/3, it’s impressive how fast she’s getting the hang of balancing on it and it’s hard to keep up on foot sometimes.
Do an e conversion on yours? Lots of options out there.
Our boys are now 4 + 6, and any combination of them + gear + their bikes when they get tired is getting to be less fun even in the nude sand flats of Berlin
our seatpost slips like crazy anyway, This seems like a great idea!
I’ve been following your thread and trying to avoid asking myself the same question. Seems like the best option.
Laws in Germany are pretty strict, I’d be limited to 250W unless I wanted to get a license plate for it and do some paperwork, but google tells me Bafang makes a 250W EU kit now too
Yeah if I were hauling around another 40lbs+ all the time I’d probably use the motor on each trip, if for nothing else than the assist when starting from a stop.
