which spoke calculator is that?
Grin
Not sure if it helps but I just had Grin do the wheelbuild for my Xtracycle. That frame is designed with an offset rear wheel as well and I just told them to offset it X mm or whatever.
any thoughts on going this route vs a purpose built battery bike? have you been happy with the results.
this is just for bad weather commuting and extending my in city range a little
the project is a brooklyn / manhattan grocery getter, bob puller.
I am fixated on doing it on the pugsley cause then I get to go buy groceries swooping around like batman.
is the fun worth the rolling weight/resistance. I could redirect the whole thing to an aluminum hardtail stumpjumper and cut the weight of the platform in half. efficiency vs fun?
Wait, pugs or moonie?
Moonlander. We just never called it that
I converted an Xtracycle edgerunner with the grin all axle v3 and I’m more than happy with the performance of it. TBH it was expensive enough I probably should have just bought a dedicated ebike but oh well
what’s the going labour rate for a gravel wheel build? I have rims and hubs
My guy charges $50/wheel + spokes but it’s def higher than that for everyone else
I charge 120/wheel.
I would pay that in a heartbeat. My latest set are like 85% done and I’m having a hard time finding the motivation for a… 5th? wheelbuilding session to finish them. I’m so bad at this, or maybe a perfectionist? or maybe both
How many wheels have you built?
Practice makes proficient.
Perfection is a myth.
I just finished my 5th pair/10th wheel last night all bog standard 32h or 36h 3 cross disc wheelsets. Four 650b and one 700c pair. Three dynamos.
Well I finished them. Probably under tensioned based on my squeeze test compared to some other wheels.
In progress dynamo hub with USB lights picture for tarck flaming
0 setback seatposts just look so weird
Agreed but the wheels look great.
Ride 'em a bit, re-true and re-tension.
Yeah but that’s where the fitter put it, and hey I still moved the saddle forward?
