My experience is you can get large-scale out-of-round and will also need to true. but nothing like old box-section aluminum where it can be a per-spoke basis. The carbon rims I have were quite rigid and round/true out of the box and didn’t take much work at all to get them running nice. Also disc brakes, so I focused a bit more on even tension than ultimate trueness.

Has anyone messed with the new DT Swiss 370 rear hubs? The new models are supposed to have the star ratchet instead of pawls now.
Parts are so expensive right now that it will be cheaper to get a DT prebuilt from Nude Beach than build it up. The 1900 Splines come with the 370 rear.
Yep. New 1900 gets “ratchet LN” which is the same star ratchet system with a different seal.
Last year DT admitted that 3-pawl hubs could be converted to ratchet hubs by swapping the ring and axle spacer on the hubshell. However, the seal placement was different so you reused the 3-pawl hub seal and move it to the star ratchet freehub body.
These wheels were previously 3-pawl but now get this upgrade at the factory but DT didn’t change the tooling for anything.
Allegedly not quite as well sealed, but the conversions we have done seemed fine.
350s are so phenomenally well sealed that i’m not sure if:
*i don’t ever want to pay for anything DT that is anything less
*a bit less would still be so good
The 1700 Spline comes with a 350/350 front/rear and Competition spokes, but also costs about 1.5x as much as the 1900.
I’ve got a 370 that I’ve tortured and is still holding strong. I guess if I roach the bearings, I can always upgrade to a 350 then.
i think @Crustradamus has the tool to swap for the ratchet ring
sure do
i should probably ship you that chainring eh?
Whenever, I don’t have a crank nor do I ride bikes.
tight. i don’t ride bikes but ive got at least 2 cranks that aren’t on bikes. maybe 3. and why do i want this fake rotor crank so bad?
fwiw that’s a group price for the crank. on its own it’s like $90 and your conscience
I’ve got a crank now
let me know how it works for you, I want to upgrade the cranks my dead-ender so it’s used and off-brand parts only, and I’m not paying $calper prices for 10s shroom stuff
are these garbage? for clydesdale fork build
they’re totally cromulent as far as i know
$99+$120ship
Anyone in VT?
It’s $45 shipping to me.
I mean, what’s the plan tho? Shipping is shipping. I don’t need 4 pairs of gravel rims (even if they’re cheap).
Buy em cheap stack em deep
looks like there are other listings with single pairs for $30, $22 ship to upstate NY tho
maybe still worth it… I do need a pair of rims for a thing
