Aimable seems like a right solution for a light that helps me see…but I’m trying to have drivers in front of me at a broad angle (ie at adjacent stop sign) see me. I suppose I could turn my head and send a focused beam at each driver, but I’d rather a diffuse light placed high that is going to be easy to see in the peripheral of drivers.

These reflect a surprising amount of light and might be worth trying.

This isn’t super crazy I suppose but I was checking component mileage and my Sanyo dynohub now has about 10 years and 10,000 miles on it. Not the most absurd numbers but pretty good for a cheap hub/wheel off ebay shartmo
Those magnetic trek mounts posted above seem to have a normal gopro style attachment point in between the light mount and the helmet mount. If so, you could put something else on there with a wider throw.
Ok tarck…. I think I’m too lazy to work up some crazy light setup to tuck under the deck of the Hase with disconnects. Are there STVZO lights that work any better at bar height?
Just thinking about this makes me question not just going full nerd and getting a bunch of Schmidt coaxial and connectors to set up so the light can easily be removed with the deck.
I guess that’s my answer.
But is there a lazy alternative I won’t be annoyed with?
So I bought some of these thinking they’d go great on Wald basket wire, but they are a couple tenths of a mm too small to stay put on the basket.
But! I did find that running a 3/32 bit through them makes them fit the basket wires just fine. Have to clip them too, but that’s simpler.
The thing about the headlamp that really seems to catch drivers’ attention is my head movement. I look right at them when they’re approaching and I can see them lift their foot off the pedal.
I was curious about putting them on a basket as well and still might given this little bit of info, thanks!
I was informed today that B&M has discontinued production of the Luxos U with no firm info on a replacement as of yet.
Also learned that Schmidt is doing a new light with similar optics to the Edelux, 150 lux, high/low setting and integrated charger. Word is it will be spensive. Now would be the time for Sinewave to make a STVZO variant of their light.
Allegedly not getting the edelux name now. But coming 3rd quarter (hopefully).
Someone pointed me at this webpage: Ladelux – SON Hub Dynamos
high/low switch looks much more like a real product than a first-rev prototype now
Ahh. Yes. That’s it!
I don’t get the magnets

Waterproof? A few new powermeters are using similar connectors for charging.
Are we charging a wireless switch?
