it wouldn't be tarck without a dyno thread

Yeah. Someone sent it to me the other day. Makes me appreciate QR even more. Probably not much use for the Aliexpress crap I have.

forks ship with the TA, it’s for the most part superior!

Yes, but usually only in one thickness.

Despite its occasional PITA, thru axle is my favorite bicycle development since painted deep vs

I still don’t have a single thru-axle bike.

I have no love of TA. The only reason I have 3 of them is because they were free, because their dumb arse standard was out-dated very quickly so they had no value to anyone anymore.

I had the opposite problem. I bought a wheelset with convertible hubs but it only did QR and 15mm thru for the front.

Velomine, an incredible bike shop in IL, machined the end caps on a lathe so they would fit in 12mm thru axle fork dropouts and sold me an adapter sleeve all for… $15.

If you have disc brakes it’s a nice upgrade for forks

I just got a couple of sleeves off Ali a few years back for a few bux, 15mm to 12mm, and 12mm to QR. But i guess that only works in a 100 mm fork-way. Ive never had an issue with QR disc forks. My poop-barn bike has been QR disc since 2010. I guess Ive done 2 rides on TA on the OPEN.

Yeah last two dynamo wheelsets I built were for QR disc but I made sure to get a rear hub that could convert to 12mm thru. For the front I just got a 12mm thru hub and use a sleeve for the QR instead. Works great and more flexible/future proof.

Has anyone successfully replaced the battery in a Luxos U? Suggestions on sourcing the battery?

Looks like lifepo4 150mah

I’m finding either 3.7V 150mAh batteries (wrong voltage), or 6.4V but much larger (1500+ mAh) batteries. While 1500 mAh might be great for charging a device, I don’t think it’ll fit in the light body.

You think maybe they’re wired in series and the 6.4 is ideal and not actual

Yeah, just realized that.

Dq what is the number before lifepo4?

802025p, I think.

And I opened it up to figure out what was going on with the wiring.

Seems like a potentially finicky/annoying but doable project. It’s conceivable there’s other broken components, but the batteries definitely look like the culprit.

I dare u to eat that spicy spice packet
