Sounds like it.

I think I’m two inches shorter than you with a three inch shorter inseam, though.

Anyone try Le Col?

I want this aero jersey but it is a little ridiculous

I’m into it.

Well if you want one this 20% off code makes it less ridiculously priced

Also I just invited you via refer a friend for a free gillet. I have no idea what a gillet is or what it is used for but if you order feel free to use that link, or not…I don’t really need a gillet but you might

defeet are the only socks I buy anymore. They just last so long and are built so well. I get their tech fabric and wool socks of all kinds now. I’m a big fan. I’m such a fan I pay retail for them. The only defeet sock I have had die got stuck in the dryer and was shredded by the drum spinning.

Really? My thin Rapha vest is one of my favorite pieces of kit. Blocks wind chill without making me too hot, my chest tends to get cold when weather is in the 60s otherwise (tends to be kinda humid here which makes it chillier, think SF summer weather)

I’ve tried on some of their jerseys at a shop in the UK in 2019. From memory, the jerseys are a a reasonably slim “race cut.” The torso runs longer than Castelli, which I think you’d like.

I have a pair of their merino socks because that trip was very wet and I wanted a backup pair. Nice but on the thick side.

Well if anyone else wants to spend 100 lbs at Le Col and wants a free non-fur gillet with their order let me know and I’ll send you a referral link

Gillet + arm warmers rules for cold

I think you want a gillet

I really don’t like gilets or arm warmers or really anything I have to take on and off or that might not stay in place while I’m riding.

I kinda do. Did you order one?

I did! Twinsies!

Avoid riding in Virginia at all cost.

I feel like this is really anywhere you ride when the duration is over 2 hours fall-spring. Except for here and summer, b/c I’m looking to invent a Yeti ice vest.

Being in the bay area where it’s more temperate, that’s less the case. Most days, I’m on the bike around 6AM. Recently, it’s been in the low 50s around that time and it’s It’s usually < 65f until 9-10AM recently. For those conditions, the thermal knickers and long-sleeve jersey previously mentioned are perfect. Any other time of day, I just wear normal kit.

I’ve started doing a group ride once a week in the late afternoon recently, that one is a little trickier. It’s warm when I leave the house and may get pretty cool by the evening. I’ll take arm warmers in that case.

dry ice in the cooler so it loses weight as it sublimates, power the pump off the dynamo

Anyone have great tips on what to do with old kit? Some of it is worn out and just needs to go, but much of it is just too big for me.
