TC I kinda want the AXS upgrade kit for no other reason than “neat”
they’re doing something weird with the lockring - the top four cogs are a unitized piece with an internal captive lockring, kiiiinda like an XD cassette. internal captive lockring = no need for a face on the outside of the small cog for the lockring to press against = they can make a smaller cog.
I think they may be scooching the cassette outboard a little to make room for that, and they know it’s not gonna cause any frame fit issues because this is only going on bikes with UDH hangers or derailleurs.

It has been a while since I’ve had to take a cassette off, but don’t the little cogs hang off the end of the XD driver as well?
Ok, its not new, but its new to me. My new old F700 came with one of these. The cockpit felt a bit short, I just loosened the bolts and rolled it forward! It works. Syntace VRO

I’ve literally broken the stem of a presta valve in half. Which this innovation can’t do anything about.

Anyone use the Silca? Seems like a more sound option (if $$$) than whatever Riv cooked up there.
