This looks… cool?

I just want to hear what @JUGE_FREDD thinks

Squirrel said on facebook that that thing weighs like 790 grams.
This thing doesn’t have the cool light thing but it lists at 296g:

I think I may give it a shot this winter.

Normally hate these sorts of things but they really got the anime-mecha aesthetic down, whether or not it rides like shit

I only see eyeshield hamlets on youthful MIT guys

Imagine how boss it would be to slam your visor down before cranking a full 75 watts out of your hub motor and gently proceeding down the block

Used it today with my normal rain bike. It weighs 754 grams including ear muffs so you should judge if that would bother you.
I was telling Rudy how they balanced the weight fore/aft pretty well. Comparing it to my lightest weight Lazer helmet with a 2x AA battery headlight zip-tied to the front which had unbalanced distribution & really torqued my head forward when going over bumps.

Had 3 cyclists ask about the helmet this morning while waiting at stop lights & drawbridges. They all commended about wanting a face shield for the rain.

Discovered a slight downside since it was heavier rain this morning & higher humidity. If you exhale out your nose the air flow pushes up into the windshield and fogs it up a bit but if you exhale out your mouth the head wind carries it away. Its not difficult to clear the fog though, you just need to look sideways and it evaporates off.

exactly the right people are behind it

also crazy cost, but they’re uniquely well capitalized — none of the other people doing that kind of thing are manufacturing in that (still small) volume up-front

That was exactly my thought. There are approximately ten designers who could approach this in any way I would consider trusting, and a few of them are working on this.

I think having an actual product to sell is the killer.

I mean. Lauf is still around because they have cash flow I’d guess.

it’s funny, as a blind-without-glasses guy, i need the cycling cap to block a lot of rain from hitting my glasses in order to still feel in control of my vision. maybe it’s different when the droplets are one element separated from my effective eyes

agreed. Dave Weagle + suspension, I tend to pay a little bit of attention.

The bane of every motorcyclists cool-morning commute.

I’ve got some 15mm dead-ender wheels for which this could be cool

The silent freehub is pretty clutch (get it?!). Everything else I couldn’t really care less about.

You could always get a tube to size 15mm hubs to 12mm axles. They are super cheap on amazon from China.

Huh. Thanks China!

Jesus Christ. I am still in the 10spd era from when I last worked in a shop. I think I’ll stop there.

Cool, now I can bleed my rear derailleur too.
