Pavement bikes

I did a giant shoot on a contend once, it rode pretty well for the short time I spent on it:

the Contend seems like it can do a racier mode and a more rando-y mode without too much of a pain in the ass converting between the two, congrats!

How do y’all elegantly carry all your junk on these things

tiny butt rocket, tiny handlebar bag/stem bag/ toptube bag thing and or half frame bag

Creative use of Jersey/vest pockets

Maybe a frame bag if you’re going long

Probably a small saddle bag with a tube and tools

Butt rocket if you’re camping

Front rack & porteur/randonneur bag, of course!

Inside Line saddlebag, jersey pockets. I kinda want to try a second saddlebag sized container mounted below my dt water bottle holder with a Wolftooth B Rad.

I’m partial to the Arundel seat bags since they don’t have a strap around the seat post. The “Tubi” model is pretty good sized

This.

i ordered an arundel tubi!
and also a molle pack to attempt an emulation of the Swift thing (which is also the same thing i did with a giant hip pack mig gave me years ago, now on The Angel’s bike permanently)

I was always curios about those (and the hope V-twin). I made a homemade system BITD and even that was better than Avid BB7-road calipers, and actually worked fairly well. I’m imagining this Giant system must not be entirely bad.

HY spaghetti!!
I like a tool roll flat kit under the saddle plus any of the various burrito bags on the market for the front
If I need more space I’ll strap on one of those feedbag things
If I need waaaaay more space, an under-the-top-tube bag, but I’ve only had to do that twice ever
With all the good bag options these days, eff carrying anything in your pockets atmo

I really like The Back Country Research top tube strap for a tube and levers on my bike with zero mounts. I keep it on the downtube below the bottle cage. Usually on a 1x drivetrain but i’ve used it on the road bike with a double with no issue.

Also, the Swift bag Mig posted has been added/removed from my shopping cart several times. Can’t decide if I should buy it or just buy a front rack for my road bike.

i swear at one point grabbing the rear brake made the bike accelerate. probably just reacting to it not working at all vs expecting it to work a little, but dang it was bad

I love mine, it’s really excellent.
