My boss bought a new bike for the business. I had a blast riding this around for two days but could absolutely feel the difference in my legs the next day. I’m looking forward to working on it two days a week to try and build up a bit more strength.
I went for a 30 mile ride today to try out the toupe I got from Amy- diggin it. Forgot my gloves like a dumbass which was basically unbearable since it was 40 degrees out, but some serious htfu got me through it. Got a flat 15 miles out. tc: First flat I’ve gotten on the road in the past 5 years, luckily I made a last minute decision to bring my pump and spare tube. This thing is geared a bit too high but dgaf.

Was gonna say, that gearing doesnt look so bad, then realized giant Serotta makes chainring look deceptively tiny.

Been getting out in between rain storms. Tubulars should be arriving soon, so that’ll be an interesting endeavor. Will for sure be Guyshoeing when I get them set-up.[/quote]
That’s rad! Are you gonna run with a new wheelset to go with those tubes? Can’t wait to see how it’ll all come together.
@rusty: lolyap, all winners here
Come to think of it I should probably post pictures of my bike for everybody to see. That way y’all can inform me of how JA it’s setup?
Show me that pie plate.

Fuck yeah dude.
Was off on Monday and weather was decent, so went for a nice, brisk double tarck century. Hit some hills i’d only ridden on Pmount before, and though I anticipated my quads were going to asplode, much to my surprise, since this thing is so light in comparison (just under 17 lb.) … it felt like NOTHING AT ALL.

Also I’m like 20 lb. lighter than I was a couple months ago. So that probably 'splains part of it.
Some of the steeper downhill portions were sketchy as fuck though, especially with NOBR AKES. That kind of sucked. Need to put one on.
Guyshoe cos great success and still alive
like it. like it a lot.
Yeah, new wheels and new tires.

Be sure to keep some load on it. In my experience the Bullits suck for handling when totally unloaded.

Brian Baylis replaced the tube and dropout and painted it. Local guru worked magic on the bottom bracket and cotter pins to make shit work. It was a long process but whatevs, it’s done now.
Rides great, shifting isn’t that fantastic. Yes, I have the original pedals but I’m going to leave ATACs on for actual riding. There’s about a million more pics here:

How long did it take Baylis to do the work?

Handles like a dream unloaded compared to a Bakfeits.
I believe it - but still would ride in everpresent fear the understeer.

3 1/4 years for most of the bike. A couple of parts arrived a few months after that…
The guy fixing the bb/crankset took 20 months, too. In the end, I gave him a deadline of a bike show I wanted to take it to and he said “no problem, will have it done next week”. He took an extra month and so I had to build it up the night before the show. Bloody tenderhole tortured geniuses…

We have that bin on the front with a catering bag inside. With my tool pouch added it’s enough to make it feel alright. I think everyone else is a bit shaky on the steering but I took to it like it was nothing.
Couple weeks ago.
