Also how are we relying on single frames from shoddy ass NBC broadcasts? I know cycling is the bastard of professional sports but was there not a single professional photographer taking pictures of two of the biggest names in cycling battling it out on the sprint? I mean fucking shit, we have photos of Lebron riding a fucking trek hybrid to the grocery store but we can’t get an actual photo of Peter Sagan and Mark Cavendish colliding in a sprint on the 3rd fucking day of the tour?!
And for the record, I love Lebron. Fuck the cavs and fuck cleveland but that man is a saint and deserves all and more of the accolades that both Kobe and Jordan ever got.

I posted it so you could watch the video, not read along. Forget about the “forensic analysis.” Laying blame on 1 of 2 sprinters for a collision while trying to hold the wheel of a zig-zagging third wasn’t the point of me posting. It was to clearly show that he really didn’t just throw an elbow. He was lifting his wrist to get Cav’s hood out from under it.

Sorry to come off dickish about it. Once any views other than the copter shots were available, I thought it was fully accepted that it wasn’t the elbow jab that it looked like from above.

The UCI is the old stuffy bastards of the euro grand tour elite. They do not want people like Peter Sagan in their tour. They could barely suffer Cavendish but after all the money they’ve made him they’ll suffer his inclusion (it probably helps he’s on the team that is the tech partner of the tour).
You know damn well that when the commissars of the tour were voting to DQ Sagan they didn’t have in the peripheral vision of their minds eye the sight of Sagan signing that woman’s boobs on the tour 5 years ago. I know you all remember it, the commissars of the tour sure as fuck do as well.
I’m not bothered by the idea of a juvenile, sexist pig seeing consequences for his actions. For as shitty as he’s acted towards women, lots of folks on here are more than happy to ignore it and jump on the band wagon.
Then let’s punish him for the sexist stuff. If the UCI doesn’t have a mechanism by which to do that, maybe they should make one. It would be good for everybody.

Sagan has at least improved his public behavior, and he’s exciting to watch. I’m inclined to give a pass for improvement, given how sexist cycling is in general.

You’re right. But since no one wanted to charge him for sexual assault, what’s left is reminding him that what he does leaves a bad taste in people’s mouths and that can come back to haunt him when it comes to those people deciding whether or not to give him the benefit of the doubt.
In many jobs, the shit he pulled would get him fired. But he’s a male athlete so that means he gets a free pass from men to be a complete asshole. He doesn’t get a pass from me. If he’s going to choose to be an asshole, I’m going to choose to care a lot less if something happens to him that isn’t totally fair.
