I finally serviced mine, even after dealing with some play in xt or xtr for a bit. thought emor method was all I needed, but it is super simple to adjust the bearings. Now no more play!

This all reminds me I need to service a new right spindle into my m959 xtr pedals so I can use them.

This all reminds me, it’s pissing down outside and today would be a great day to maintain some of the many Shimano pedals and I have never even glanced at.

Thankfully caught before it 'sploded: brand new PC-1110 chain missing an inner plate in the manufacturing process. Sup caught it while installing it. SRAM is getting a sharply worded letter or maybe just poop in bag with matches and instructions.

You should tell him that’s not how wheels work.

I’m a little impressed with the whole situation.

The dangler looks shockingly still pretty okay. Totally reminds me of one time in bike polo when someone spooled a mallet handle all the way around their axle.
Found it! July 2008 wow that was a while ago.

Broke the chain on the eLorry on the way home today in the middle of an intersection so lots of folx got to see me almost crash. Kind of a bummer for it to happen on an XT chain with less than 200 miles on it. #thanksshimano

The fun part was that pedaling without a chain was generating enough of a torque signal at the BB to get the motor to maintain about 10mph at max assist. The hub motor plus throttle collab made it real easy to make it the remaining mile home.

Did you do the broken chain wobble where you’re laid out over the bars?

Oh yeah, not sure if the super heavy front motor/wheel helped or hurt with that. I don’t even how I stayed upright. My shin has a few minor gouges, nothing too bad given how aggressive the pins on the pedals are.

Lol reminds me of the time my foot slipped off a pedal and I ate shit in the middle of a busy intersection and everyone just ~drove around me~

Don’t know what I wanted them to do but I guess I hoped for something more than “nothing”

Did you have to pedal slowly or super fast? Either way I’m not sure how you generated any torque with essentially zero resistance
