Speaking from experience, road salt doesn’t do that to tires.
Yeah, I’m stumped.
Made for a very cautious ride home.
i know that’s not what you meant but dang. the most shining review i’ve ever read there lol
That rack mount tab is a big yikes from me
Me too!
That’s stock delivered on a new bike. To be fair, it’s the only LvH accessory i’ve been disappointed with thus far.

Text the Outpost number tomorrow. I probably have a spare in my DT drawer. If I do I’ll drop it in the mail.
Dude at work asked me about replacing the bottom bracket on his Peloton stationary bike, and I was like, “LOL there are a ZILLION BB standards.”
Did a little digging and it seems to use ISIS, but in an oversized cartridge that has bigger bearings. Why, in the year of our lord 2022, would this be the case? Seems nuts.
just pull it out and put a new one in. if that’s a rear i probably have you covered if braden doesn’t. i’m hoarding just in case i need to go back in time but i doubt i do
someone at Peloton found a steal on weirdo BBs when sourcing parts for their bikes?
I’m guessing this is fatal. BB has been stuck in here for probably 12 years. In my morning break I had another look at it. Put my king size adjustable nut-fucker on it, softly stood on it’s handle and… Smoothly tore all the spine teeth off in one move. I’m thinking the frame is toast now.
Can you get the other side out?
I did one of the these with a big 20" tongue and groove pliers. Just enough lip to grip + penetrating oil + a little heat.
I haven’t tried recently, but previously yes. Does that help?
There isn’t much to grip on. I probably should have soaked it : p
If you pop the other cup out you might be able to give the spindle on the stuck side a good whack and knock the internals out. Then you just have to carefully split the stuck cup into thirds with a hacksaw. Unlike a Shimano BB that cup is going to be pretty soft.
This was going to be my suggestion. I’d probably use a chisel and just fuck up the frame by accident but a hacksaw is probably more gentle.
That’s a good plan. Last time I looked at it the spindle came out. Like most of my crap, it owes me nothing, but I have a sram red groupset lying around that I need to put on something, and I was actually thinking about rattle canning it. Its a local variant of what may have been marketed as a Blue bike in other places.
isn’t there a stein tool that would maybe work for this?
the VAR 30 tool is the classic high quality one that doesn’t leave a scratch
but here you just put a big bolt through the spindle hole and tighten a nut onto that
