I think it isn’t leaking? I’m so goddamn perplexed. Cracked like old dry plastic. Which I guess is what it is.
Pretty common failure. More than 2 years old?
Oh yeah. 7025 series.
Asking not as a customer but as someone who you are not liable for: is it gonna leak?
No idea. We just warranty term and move on.
So that’s the master cylinder? Those aren’t plastic on the MTB stuff, are they?
But 2 years means SOL yeah?
@jeffro I dunno, seems like the shifter body holding the master cylinder.
probably. Shimano has been more stringent with warranty enforcement. Never hurts to try.
It is a “known issue” so that is in your favor.
lol was perusing ebay for replacement shifters (haven’t begged shopbro friends to try to warranty) and came across this listing in Japan:
“Tube and oil not included. You can see a slight crack in the place marked with a circle, but it can be used without problems.”
Well, guess I’ll just run 'em!!
“The oil seeping from these brakes is of the finest Japanese quality”
Just clicked the chain retention switch on my XT derailleur and the whole lever just broke off

It’s a $5 part, but c’mon. It’s never been hit/bashed. Few years old.
Thanks Shimano
Dang
you good? idk if this is your bike but woof that didn’t look fun
Customers bike, I think they did something dumb because they’re not telling the full story.
They good though, and that’s the only damage to the bike I’ve found
Cheaper to fix a bike than a body
Sharks?
