RIP
tease
saw an XO-5 with really fancy shit bolted on outside the co-op today. folks are scraping the dregs of the BSTONE legacy at this point
A MB-5 rolled through last month. The young bucks got all wound up. I LOLd.
Fuuuuuuuuuudge. Torque arm bracket slipped on chainstay causing torque arm to bend and hit brake caliper. But the real issue is the power cables coming out of the motor. Gonna try some of this “liquid electircal tape” stuff.
Thanks, I’ve been thinking about them but wasn’t sure. Definitely missed out on those from planet cyclery but managed to snag some Time MTB ATACs for cheap so thanks for the heads up.
JRA? Do we know? Was there an impact?
supposedly jay rah
Wow, I was expecting stick or squirrel to be implicated.
Just your average 5 ft drops
More so for the bike shop thread but they were totally just riding along and their thru axle was definitely installed correctly.
Did the axle fail or did it back out?
Axle and all threads are intact. It just wasn’t installed correctly after they took a trip.
They said they just grabbed a bit of front brake, thankfully they were moving quite slowly and didn’t get hurt.
LOL… I missed the sarcasm regarding JRA.
my friend who is an excellent programmer and wood worker is terrible at bikes. i took his bikes and fixed them up. he has a thru axle front that was barely finger tight. i can see how someone would end up doing that!
I love how thru axels were supposed to eliminate the user-error issues with QRs, and humans responded by becoming better at generating errors.
No one ever clocks those DT skewers right, either.
Bob Axle all the things.
ok u right but also thru axles are just so much better in basically every way and i love them
oh I agree 100%
it just boggles my mind that you wouldn’t tighten such a thing down until it’s snug, since it’s kinda responsible for keeping your wheel on your bike.
