Seattle area tarck

Get yourself signed up on one or more of the neighborhood parents’ email lists. It’s where a lot of the action happens re: people looking for nanny shares, etc…

Got a small mountain bike or CX bike that you can loan out for a day? The Washington Women of CX festival is coming up on 8/26 and I’m working with one of the local teams to try and get more women to (myself included) out for the beginner clinics and race that day. The idea is to get a few small bikes for people to try out CX, see if they like it in a friendly, supportive atmosphere, and then they can go buy a bike that they actually like.

If you’ve got one that would fit the bill (the course is at St. Eds), let me know and I can play match-maker. There’s also a men’s and kids race. https://www.usacycling.org/register/2017-2030
Need any volunteers?
Yes- sign up to volunteer here: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c054baaab23a5fe3-2017

Folks needed to set up the course, help with parking, race marshal, scoring, mentor for the beginner race, course take down - basically help with the entire day.

Cool. I’ll try to rope in Kyle too if he’ll be around then.

I’m around and should be in. That’s in the middle of my only week of summer vacation at home.

Can I pay for the straight shot bus to PA with an orca card?

Also, recommendations for charming wedding venues within an hour or so of Seattle. Not a campground. Springtime date prolly.

HY Todd!

Seriously there was a thread sometime in the past month that had some reasonable advice.

If you are looking for a place in the city I have gone to 3 weddings in Seattle that were all very nice:

 • Washington Hall in the Central District (reception)
 • Golden Gardens Bath House
 • Mount Baker Rowing and Sailing Center (on Lake Washington)

Or kitsap state park for the ultimate in camp vibes. Drawback: not an hour from seattle. An hour of driving, and an hour on a boat.

We got married at The Swedish Club. Great views of Lake Union and pretty chill overall.

We did a day thing and brought in our own beer/wine, but they have a bar if you’re into that.

We got married at salty’s. Iconic view, very helpful staff, good food. It’d be especially great for a reception, but we did the whole shebang and everyone who attended loved it.

on venues: state parks are cheap, cheap, cheap …and there’s more than a few that have rustic looking halls you can decorate. The rules at parks mean that festivities can’t go past 10pm, so not a good choice if you’re planning to go the distance.

on a side note, I have a photographer to recommend if you’re in need of a recommendation, and be prepared to cry about how much food will cost.

Sup Tarck. Life got bad for awhile so I haven’t been around. I have a bike I need to get rid of. Before I take it to Recycled I thought I’d offer it here first since I got it here. It’s a 56cm Nerdavinden, with the upside down logo, for maximum cred. Comes with everything in the photo plus some stuff listed in the comments. $250?

BTW Tarckee, I still have that fabric for you if you want. I can drop off Thurs evening if that works, or meet downtown during the day this week.

PM sent.

2nd dibs.

Hey dude I hope everything is getting better than it was

Yeah, what Mig said. Hopefully things are looking up.

Shit Josh! Sorry to hear things are going poorly. I have some free time in the next few weeks and would be happy to take you out for drinks or cook you dinner or anything, I think you have my #.

I’m into the state park idea, kitsap memorial looks like a solid choice for us.
Pretty sure I want Taco Time to cater, but I will probably get vetoed.

??

Sequim has some nice Lavender farms too.

Thanks friends. Josh came and got the bike and was super cool. Hope your friend enjoys it.
