Point left to align with the road crown in NA. UK, AUS, etc. point right.

I wore out several sets of 700x42 Re-fuse on my Wolverine. It ain’t exactly supple or whatever but it’s a good tire.

the funny thing is, if you mount it reversed it will still point to the left

smart

Yeah, what he said.

On a scale from cotton tubular to garden hose, it’s somewhere below a Gatorskin but with more resistant to cuts.

The Refuse were noticeably less supple than the DTR-1s surprisingly. So far so good. Here are some data points:

  • Ultradynamico Cava Race tires measure 50.5mm wide and 48mm tall on VO Voyager
  • DTR-1 are 49mm wide and 49mm tall on VO Voyager
  • Re-fuse are 48.5mm wide and 46.5mm tall on DT R500

What’s your method for measuring tire height? Do you measure rim from spokeside with no tire then subtract that number from outermost tire to innermost side of rim after mounting?

Good question. I measured from the top of the rim sidewall to the top of the middle of the tire. I eyeballed the imaginary line. I’m a pretty good eyeballer tbough.

I like my ramparts way more than I liked the horizons. I run them in the low 20s and lost traction on them for the first time the other day on a fresh loose gravel climb that was at least 25% grade.

That being said, we got some ramparts last that looks like the mold wasn’t setup properly. one half of the tread was 2mm lower than the other half. Can’t imagine that’s the only tire with that issue.

i have been riding schwalbe g-ones (they are pretty old) everywhere lately and i love them so much i don’t see myself ever buying a different tire

G-one speed might be the best tire I’ve ever ridden. It’s like the G-one(which is great) but even better.

I have g one regulars now, I was gonna get the speeds when these die but saw they’re heavier? Schwalbes tire catalog is too hard to understand and I’m done trying

Decided on Rene Herse Barlows instead, change my mind

I can’t talk about weight because I don’t care but the speeds are really nice rolling tires. The regulars are also really nice rolling tires. I’ve had the regulars set up tubeless on some non tubeless rims for years with zero problems. I’d buy them any day over a Panaracer product that may or may not work.

I don’t really agree, but I do appreciate your unwavering disdain for panaracer products

I like all the schwalbe tires I’ve used, I just find their marketing stupid and annoying

My kinda dude

Think I’ll be swapping out the Horizons for Ramparts next time I have the motivation to mess with tire milk. Rear tire hasn’t ever been off, so it’s got multiple fillings of probably completely dry milk jerky that can be peeled off.
