they set up stupid easy too
I bought a single speed Sirrus right before I got canned, forgot to tape one of the rims, and they still sealed up and held air with no trouble.

Gravelking slicks are some of the thinnest tires on the market. A few of the models are turdly due to thread count but they’re all very thin. They’re also shitty in the wet and cold.
Specialized Gripton rubber compound is very good.
+1 on gravelkings being bad
but also: perhaps the Hutchinson Sector is worth trying? i’ve done a lot of road/ badly maintained road / dirt road on them in 32mm, they’re comfortable
Challenge Strada Bianca
i have a sector 28 bike and a roubaix 32 bike. might be because i haven’t ride the sector bike in like 2 years but i maybe like the roubaix better?
it’s a good ass tire. not really supple but not too slow and i’ve had a very low incidence of problems. mostly due to a giant gash that one time. sets up easy, bacons well, it’s just good
Vittoria Terreno Zero is a really good option too.
I’ve been liking the 35mm terreno zeros a lot.
My gravel kings are turdly, my Roubaix a lot less so.
I feel like Vittoria is just that tire company that if they bother to make a tire in a specific given class, it’s going to end up being one of the top three out there by default.
In the last year we’ve ramped up what we are stocking from them and the feedback had been 100% positive.
Rubino pro tubeless is also a really good option here.
I’m very happy with the 36mm Strada Bianche (vulcanized) but I keep thinking I’ll drop down to a bit narrower tire when I get the night moves built up for some long fall/winter rides. Rubino tubeless in 30 is likely contender at the moment. Ride quality on the ones I have installed and test ridden for customers has definitely been nicer than 32mm GP5k (although admittedly not as fast based on data out there).
Does Tarck have a current “great 700x30-32 tires” list?
Hutchison Sector - durable, reliable, pretty fast. Loved by sized humans who ride the same loop east of Richmond and smaller humans who did PBP and all the lead up mileage. I’d sell more, but they have been hard to source.
GP5k - the fastest (probably) not the best ride quality. Also some compatibility issues that the new version fixes. Will it ride better?
Vittoria Rubino pro - Fast for a “training” tire. It’s a Vittoria. It’s good.
Vittoria Terreno zero - slower than the Rubino but definitely tougher too. Probably the best alternative to a Gravel King slick.
Specialized Roubaix - pretty much the same as the Rubino, probably cheaper because it’s a S product. Best if you work/shop at a dealer.
And yes the Rene Herse BJP is bigger but they do ride great. Not as fast as a fast tire but thats not the point.
There’s a bigger Vittoria Corsa tubeless supposedly, but I have yet to be able to find them.
Fred will now sell you on Schwalbe.
Enve in 30 and 32 mm (no experience with them). Comes in tan wall.
Goodyear Eagle F1 32 mm, also no experience with them.
Pirelli looks good too. No immediate experience with their fast and bulbous tires. Their gravel stuff is well made but pricey.
got a set of Pirelli P Zero that are going on my alu road bike once the current schwalbes are done. 30mm, but will be sitting on wiiiiide rims
What’s a good tubeless 700c 38mm tire with shoulder knobs?
Maxxis Receptor, Terreno Dry, WTB Byway
Accidentally’d this one.
Been doing big gravel rides with friends on Sundays. I’ve wiped out a few times and the yips are killing me. Need more confidence than I get on the G-One Speed, which are great on pavement, but not so great in the loose dusty stuff unless I bring the pressure way down, at which point they become sketchy in corners.
You’ll be happy I suspect. Good tire.
That’s reassuring coming from you. Thanks.
