Ok I’m running G-ONE BITE in 54-584 SnakeSkin (550 g), at around 25 psi in the front and 30 psi in the rear. So far it’s pretty supple (the only references I have are Horizons in 47 but tubed and ThunderBurts but those wore down really quickly) Feeeels? supple
So I had some stans in the tube of a tire that had a slow leak. It did get me home, didn’t stop the leak entirely, but did make it a lot easier to find that staple!
I rode the Schwalbe Big One snakeboot 60-584 tires heavily this year; I think they ported that model into the G-One range. Nice, fast-rolling tires. After riding Terrene Elwoods and SBHs, they did not feel stiff at all. I did have issues with a dog biting through one and some slate shards stabbing up the other.
I like Schwalbe tires in general and probably won’t buy Compass tires again. Can’t trust those sidewalls.
You should check out the Teravail Ramparts. Don’t seem as turdly as the Horizons are reported to be. @Rent-to-own-Faxmachine and myself have been enjoying them for a while.
I had one of the first pairs that WTB shipped, and they were noticeably lighter than the followup pair. They also shrank in size and got oranger.
That said, the new ones are still fine. I ride them everywhere, every single day, and I’ve never flatted on them. They barely show any wear. There might be a more supple option out there, but I can pro deal these and they last forever, so I don’t really care. But I’ll probably try Panaracer next, just to do something different.
i just got the gravelkings in a 650x48xblack and after one ride i think i like them better than horizons (older, true size, less orange). they feel a bit faster, but i feel drastically different from day to day so that remains to be seen. so far i think it’s what i want- more sidewall, less tread, but i’m not 100% sold on S U P P L lyfe- i feel like when my tubeless tires are too supple, i have to run the pressure too high
