Interesting:
Which site is this from? Iām curious if they tested the handmade or vulcanized version of the Challenge Strada Bianche? I swear the vulcanized āfeltā faster, but who the heck knows?
Yeah, curious too. No Pirelli, no Maxxis, no Conti
Velonews apparently.
Facebook Man shared a link to what appears to be a re-translation to English from the article as it was originally published somewhere on a non-english, non-paywalled website.
I made this chart (left in the funny translation swap)
Pathfinder Pros really have no right being as fast as they are IRL.
In the article they mention that the tread is vulcanized but the casing is not, which is why, according to them, itās so good.
Difficulty Gravel Mills Are on sale at DifficultyDrains.com right now. Might need to scoop some up.
so⦠receptors or gravel mills in 584x47?
IRC Boken
the side knobs are sufficient on the Boken at low psi?
Sure? As good as the Receptor probably.
Definitely speedy.
might have been posted already, but a good guide to tubeless. Iām assuming most people here know this stuff already, but it serves as a handy checklist when youāre wondering why the fuck your tire wonāt hold air.
RIP 700x40c Byways. I pot a second plug in the front on Saturday and the rear got itās third plug today. They have 1100 mi on them, but the tread still has at least that much life left.
The channels on either side of the center tread are a serious weakness. All the punctures were there.
Iāve never got anywhere near 1100 miles on WTBs. Just constant plugs after a couple hundred miles.
Horizons are the only WTBs that ever worked for me. Riddlers, Raddlers, and Byways have all been junk.
WTB Exposure in 30mm has treated me pretty well.
Luck of the draw.
Iāve got plenty of good WTB stories from various people who have put them thrift there paces.
I killed one of Fredās beloved Schwalbe ONE TLE tires in less than 200 miles while less than 100 yards from my house.
Shit happens.
Will I get banned if I admit that Iāve had really good luck with Teravails?
Edit: because Iāve had really good luck with Teravails.
nah that probably wont get you banned. i didnt have phenomenal luck with their 650x48- i forget if i got the tough or supple but it didnt feel much better than horizons, just with a slightly wider acceptible pressure range. got a bad cut pretty early on before i really got into bacons so thats on me. fine tire but nothing in the 650x48 range has felt as good as the reens as much as i HATE to admit it
Descending on wet roads with them had a serious pucker factor for me. The Maxxis have a predictable point where they will let go. I didnāt ever find that point on the WTBs.
Welp, I think my/team hammersawās time with Donnelly is over. ProNet Cycling is no longer a distributor for them and that is who our deal was with.
With that being said, Iāve killed the mso tires. So many punctures and numerous along the bead. I used 4 plugs today alone and it doesnāt seem to matter if Iām riding them at 30psi or 45psi. Maybe Iām just hard on tires? My rims are 19mm wide internal and 40c is still within the realm of okay, but with so many bead punctures I think I might need a wider rim?
So, I need a recommendation for a 40mm-ish tire that can handle rocky singletrack and isnāt a slouch on the road.
