Also this doesn’t make sense. A valve is a device for controlling the passage of fluid or air, thus “replacing the valve” is replacing the part that modulates the flow of air. That other part you are referring to is the valve stem. The complete assembly is formally referred to as “the air hole”
Tubolito? Helped a pal use one a couple of weeks ago to stuff in a burped and slashed reen hers tubeless and it was easy enough, got him the next 35 miles home.
Turbolitos are are fine as spares but I wouldn’t start a ride with them. I don’t have personal experience but my friend has gone through a few and they don’t seem to hold air very long. I just Cary a latex lube as a spare cause they’re half the price.
Very light, very tiny. They’re for dumbasses like myself with more money than sense that aren’t brave enough to go without a tube in our saddle pack but wish we could.
Yes, pack up real small. But you have to use the special expensive patches etc on them so I feel like they are a one use kind of a bail-out thing. By the time you have packed your plugs, and your sewing kit and your special valve removal tools you dont want another patching system.
Yup. Kinda how I treat them. Basically, if I flat badly enough that sealant or a plug won’t work. The one time that happened, I’d torn open a big enough hole in the tire that a tube was gonna die anyway. Got me home though.
yes! these things – tossed em into a bike24 order to save a few bucks on some bad magura decisions, same with those 530-odd gram 26x2.2 racekings with the sidewall protection. I might swap the Homages on my Cimarron for the michelins and put the racekings on the Litespeed, or vice versa. The Michelins look and feel a lot more supple, even if they’re a little heavier (570g) than the Contis. Tire swapping while tubeless is annoying!
