Maybe. The thing that’s wrinkling my brain is that the wire version Horizon mounts up fine but the folding one doesn’t. Seems backwards.
Just gonna leave this here for Heath and others

Did you miss the part where I mentioned having a trans kid and attending gender spectrum conferences? My interest in this topic arises from that and my separate interest in sports physiology.
I’ve read this book, thanks. This is a topic about which I am reasonably well informed. Further, I want to reiterate that I am in no way suggesting or implying that one’s gender identity is not valid.
Edit: Feel like I should add this for clarity: Sports physiology, performance, and the biology associated with that is an active interest of mine. This inevitably leads to the aforementioned biological distinctions, which are important in the context of sports performance. I care a great deal about these details.
Some folks would use these biological distinctions to attempt to justify questioning the validity of others gender identity. Those folks are at best ignorant and at worst behaving in a way that is loathsome and dangerous to the well-being of others.
I am very much not in that camp. All it takes for me to be accepting of one’s gender identity is a simple awareness of it. I don’t care to what degree a person passes, where they are in their transition, none of that is contingent on my acceptance, nor is it really any of my business.
Honestly there were too many words for me to read them all before falling asleep last night. However I did get to a point where you said something to the effect of “the science is clear”, which I feel is generally your downfall in these long-winded internet arguments. So I couldn’t imagine that you had read this. Sorry. ( But I also did not only post it for you. Here’s a pdf https://selforganizedseminar.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/butler-undoing_gender.pdf )
Yup. Definitely prone to wall-of-text-itis. In my head “the science is clear” means I’ll post cites if folks want. Other people probably read it as “you should just accept what I’m writing.”
Thanks for posting the PDF.
What’s the deal with tires
Flat circles.
Just like time.
lol I actually have tire content.
Brought my Jeff Jones home from the snowy place. It had been sitting in a corner covered in mud so I power washed it at a gas station when I was washing the salt off the truck last night. The front wheel wasn’t holding air so I took the tire off, tore off the old tape (it looked ragged), cleaned up the rim, took the solidified goop spot out of the tire and threw it all back together. Took the core out of the valve stem and hit it with a floor pump and the ol’ pacenti velocity rims / modern tubeless tires sealed right up.
I feel like I want to throw a tube in there anyway because it might crush the tape down better than air alone, but I also just want to inject some goop and move on with my life.
Do you ever ride tires so long they kind of square out and you feel unsafe riding descents?
tire thread got weird.
I just want y’all to know that my pump is still attached to the de-cored valve stem as I vacillate about putting a tube in to smooth out the tape.
It all started with hysteretic losses.
Sexist
I used to, but Nomads & Confreries are thin enough so they wear into the casing before squaring off.
Had to look that up;
Hysteresis loss is caused by the magnetization and demagnetization of the core as current flows in the forward and reverse directions.
I asked the poor dude maintaining a fleet of ebikes for the Otago Rail Trail if there were any problems that were popping up with the fleet. He said magnetite from the trail. Sticks to the bikes magnets and fouls them. No sensor, no forward movement! They just need a wipe.
