2x rat trap please
If I had popcorn it would totally be gone!
I’ll take one rat trap. What the hell.
No
Just a tire salesman
Well, at least something is getting reinforced
HY found my slow leak
WTH was so sure it was a tape problem that I didn’t think twice before submerging the rim so it is currently hang-drying for a while
You can’t seat the bead, and throw the tube away—a man is not a piece of tube!
Sitting at about 50mm at 40 psi. Going to let it set overnight to fully seat before adjusting to a more supple pressure. No drama so far with setting them up tubeless. Bought these Antelope Hills used, but interesting find; printed label says Rene Herse, stamp into the rubber says Compass!
Rack clearance is a hair tight for my tastes.
Probably still has unsafe pressure ratings stamped in there too.
No the problem is never seating them the first time it’s the constant weeping of sealant through the sidewall and remounting them which is a struggle due to stretch. When you top off sealant I’d definitely advise to do it through the valve and never break the bead off unless you have to.
and if you don’t already have one- get a syringe! caffelatex is the only one that goes all the way to 4oz. you usually won’t need that much but it’s a nice option. i like the ability to have some headspace in my syringe
Hmmm… I wonder what I did with my ones. I’ve probably been mistaking them for RTPs in my shed.
I only fill via the valve these days, way less waste of sealant. I used to use a syringe, now I just reuse the small bottles of Orange Seal with the rubber hose. They’re easier to clean up and work fine. I put more sealant in each tire than I would usually, just in case.
Rode up and down the block and they feel nice even at high pressure.
Oh nice, been getting slightly frustrated with the Stans injector thing since it only goes to 2 oz and the Finish Line sealant recommending more than that per tire compared to Orange Seal.
I always pour the stans into the injector with the plunger out and then push it through twice
literally why i found that one. when we used it in the bike share shop 4oz was really what we wanted.
alas the mechanics have determined it is not worth the hassle despite data showing otherwise
all i know is i add some to my tires every 18 months or so and never get a flat
the park injector goes up to 3.5oz measured (I think you could fit a touch more in there beyond the scale), I have one and it works pretty well: TSI-1 Tubeless Sealant Injector | Park Tool
I switch over to the Finish Line stuff on your recommendation, but pretty sure one tubed bike in the hoard is still on its original fill of Orange Seal endurance from like the summer of 2018. It’ll still spit out goop from the valve if provoked.
Is there a companion Park sharps container?
