My Dry I have on the rear might make it to 1000 mi, but it’ll be pretty shot. I’ll probably replace it with a Zero and keep the other Dry on the front.

Got the Tufo Speederos on and did a ride. Had a really hard time getting them seated even with a compressor. The whole process was especially annoying given that it was raining, the compressor is outside and kept throwing a breaker for some reason.
Eventually had to use a tube to seat one side and soapy water on the other. Fucked up the tape in the process in the rear and it’s leaking badly and needs to be re-taped.
First ride was good. Reasonably supple, definitely faster than the Terreno Zero, not as fast as the Strada Bianca. Hilariously, the 38c Terreno Zero is little fatter than the 40c Tufo Speedero.
Didn’t ride my normal route today, so we’ll see. Litmus test is whether I can sustain ~18mph with around 180W give or take some wind.

I had a set of Barlow Pass which is roughly similar in size. The tubeless experience was not good and there’s the weeping that happens. The casing wasn’t made to be tubeless. Finally, they weren’t that fast for as delicate as they are:
I imagine similar rolling resistance across all the RH sizes for a similar tire. BRR tested the various casings:
An extra light casing looks appealing from a speed point of view but I’m aiming for some puncture resistance here. However, I’m the BRR puncture resistance test, the extra light did as well as standard.
Still the GP5k is fastest among all the tires and has puncture resistance I know is good. If I want faster, I may get a set of those in 32mm which may be sufficient for my winter needs.

Anyone know anything about these tires? Old stock/non-US market? Not on the Vittoria site and stock number listed doesn’t bring anything up. Is G+ the first gen rubber compound?

I’m 99% sure this is a counterfeit product. The only place I see it for sale is on Aliexpress and the Wheelandsprocket eBay auction. Old tread compound from 2016 as well as packaging and product number.
One thing if it was just NOS from bikewagon but NOS doesn’t hit Aliexpress too/only IMO.

Got out on my normal route with the Tufo Speedero, was sunny and dry. 180ish Watts had me going 19-20mph along the flat route with light wind. Tires felt nice and grippy. Was thinking that the PITA to get them mounted was worth it until I was roughly 3 blocks from my house and “PSSSH!” blew sealant everywhere.
Fuck. Started to walk the bike, said fuck it, whipped out the CO2 and the dynaplug and rode it home. Still wouldn’t seal. Put another plug in it when I got home and it’s spewing sealant all over the floor. Fuck. With the micro-tread it’s hard to make out the puncture.

Yes, but I’ve never really had a problem until recently. I’ve worn out a bunch of tires that were very delicate and never should’ve survived as long as they did.
I wonder if tire size makes a difference.
Threw in a second dynaplug and still wouldn’t seal. Perfect opportunity to try that Silca sealant that I got, so I did and it seemed to seal where Orange Seal wouldn’t.

This is part of my commute. Been like it for about a week now. I don’t get punctures, but use tubes. Using runny arse most times. I guess not that much glass enroute.

I ride through the worst parts of Oakland on a daily basis. There is glass everywhere. I avoid it if I can, but often can’t. Thing is, I’ve never had problems with punctures until recently.
To be clear, I’m not mad about any of this. It’s a little frustrating is all. I’m being a bit of a princess wanting to run tires that are fast, supple, and have sufficient puncture resistance that I can ride through crap streets every day.
For like three years, I got no flats that couldn’t be quickly plugged. Then a few weeks ago I was moving a window AC into a closet and I broke a mirror that was in there when I fumbled the AC.
I’ve since had two flats that had me walking and a slow mystery leak that compelled me to put a different wheel and brake on that bike.
I guess I’m just in for seven years of flat tires.

I gave up on fast tires a while back. The amount of time saved over fixing a flat wasn’t worth it to me.
The Vittoria TLR tires have been good to me, thus far. I also saw Hutchinson is getting distribution in the US again. I may stock up on Overides while I can get them.
I mentioned upthread why I want fast tires. Effectively, I’m doing a time trial every day.
I’ve had great experience with Vittoria thread. I’m surprised the Terreno Zero are as slow as they are. They’re still great tires, though. The Terreno Dry was badass.
Like I said, I had some GP5k last >5000 miles (whoa, GP5k goes 5k) on the same streets, maybe less wet. Never had a puncture that didn’t seal.
