Like, air is coming out of the spoke holes, or sealant? I’d pull the tire and inspect either way, probably needs new tape.
yup it’s air, not sealant coming out of the spoke holes which had me wondering if I forgot to put sealant in…
Could be just a little air sneaking past the valve, sealant should handle it.
I’d retape a wheel that was doing that.
Yup, looks like I’ll be retaping. Unfortunately neither wheel is holding air. I wish I wasn’t allergic to latex because I’m pretty sure this Specialized 2 bliss soup isn’t helping my cause.
It’s always the tape*
it’s always the tape
Front wheel had a decent amount of air this morning. Rear held more air but still not great.
Need a durable but not too turdly 700x30 tire. Preferably on the cheaper side of things. Preferably tan sidewalls. Not tubeless. Anyone try Hutchinson Challenger?
Edit: seems to be hard to find in US actually. Open to suggestions.
I need a 26”x1.5ish tire for the rear of my Bullitt. I probably want some flavor of Marathon, but there are so many, I can’t figure out the ones that aren’t trash.
I thought you had a surly ET on there? Too wide?
big apple plus! 4 years 1 flat, plenty of life left
It juuuuusssssst fits. When the bead split on the one I had, I replaced it with a spesh armadillo nimbus because it was what they had at the nearest bike shop. The 1.5ish tire fits way more comfy. I pulled 27 pieces of glass out of that tire the other day. I’m sure not all of them poked the tube but a bunch of them definitely did so the finish line stuff really does work in tubes since I’ve yet to flat that thing. It’s pretty clapped out at this point. What are you running on your big pink?
I’m running the marathon turd that came with it.
Yeah, that’s probably what I need.
stock Marathon 1.75 (edit) went a long long time before wearing out, no flats on its record.
Should have used the same one but am trying a 2.0 Conti contact or something. That’s as big as it will go, it seems pretty comparable.
i’ve inflated flat tires and kept rolling for months without doing anything but continuing to add air on a schedule you’d expect to given that nature abhors a vacuum
Pasela!
I’ve really liked Hutchinson’s Sector in 32mmway, smooth feel, comfortable and consistent across a reasonable pressure range, takes forever to wear out (like I just replaced a pair that were on my bike for 2+ years, not bad at all for a road tire!)
edit: and it’s a true 32, so if you bike fits a 30 it will probably fit this.
also tubeless sector 32s are $58/pair here: Hutchinson Sector 32 Tubeless Tire OE 2-Pack Excel Sports | Shop Online From Boulder Colorado, I just ordered some last week
