Souplesse Casings and Bike Soup - The Tire Thread

Great quality tires but very not fast.

On the topic of Vittoria Terrenos, has anyone given miles to the Mix or Wet ones?
I like the Drys a lot but want something a grippier for the front.

I’m not seeing a problem here.

BRR seems to think they’re ā€œdecentā€. Same weight as the dry, less than the zero which suggests they don’t have this extra thick tread of the zero.

This makes an even dozen times the date has slipped:

I wonder if they’re having manufacturing difficulties.
Couple places have prototypes for review but I’ve seen none in the wild. All the other sizes are readily available, presumably using the same molds as the other GP5k versions.

I ain’t mad, though. If they arrived in June I’d have been pulling the current 32mm gp5k TR S off early. As it is,
These will hopefully arrive for the wet season, which is perfect.

I just mounted a pair of 650b x 42 Bokens on old Stan’s Crest MkIV rims and the tires measure exactly 45mm.

Anyone have options on the Finish Line FiberLink tubeless sealant? I bought some not realizing it’s different than their old goopy sealant I’d been using in tubes. The Jones has two big tires that will use a bunch so I’m okay using it as long as it’s not garbage.

I thought that was what you guys told me to put in my tubes so that is what I have been putting in my tubes. I only pump up my commuter like once a month since on started using it and I have had no flats. knock wood. 2 year old compass 26" thin casing commuting in brooklyn.

i use this stuff currently. works great.

That’s what I’ve used in tubes and what I meant to buy. Instead I got this which has latex and is a lot lower viscosity, like Orange Seal. Should probably clarify that the Jones is getting setup tubeless.

mine is like jawndoes

I don’t know about the other one

Turns out that Jones offers tubeless setup and test and I’m going to give them money for that instead of messing with these big dumb tires myself. Another time, Satan.

I used that fiberlink stuff in the wife’s cargo bike tubes. It’s got silly beefy ties to begin with but since she’d be pretty hosed by getting a flat I added this. Didn’t realize it was different. Hopefully it adds some additional protection.

Turns out they have two versions of the fiberlink stuff, tubeless (blue label) or tubed (orange label). Would be a little curious how it works out and how long it lasts before needing to be refreshed. I had pretty good experience with Orange Seal endurance lasting a lot longer in tubes than in tubeless, where the only problem I experienced was forgetting I’d put Orange Seal in specific tubes and beings surprised that it didn’t seal up more than two years later.

3 dyna plugs later I’m finally ready to retire the Challenge Strada Bianca TLR 700x36mm (probably didn’t help that they were secondhand.) I enjoyed the suppleness having never tried the suptyre life but weepy sidewalls and constant cuts to the center tread got annoying. Is there a version of this tyre with more protection?

Currently on Vittoria Terreno zeros in 700x35mm. The hunter dithering never ends

I’ve got about 1200 puncture-free kms on my Zero 35c right now. I’m using the TNT casing, though.

In my experience the hand made version is quite a bit more durable.

Gp5k tr as, but the 35mm version is unobtainable atm.
