I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. They’re really nice tires.

I think this tire was being discussed a week ago

Thanks, that’s exactly what I want to know, and he (and commenters) talk about the tire combos I’m considering. I’m currently on 2.6 Rekons front/rear.

I wanted to poo-poo that ree-view based on my experience with the earlier version of this tire but the bigger knobs on the revised one look really good. There’s your tire @Rent-to-own-Faxmachine .

2.6/2.4 might be the hot setup.

For comparison’s and curiosity’s sake I went to check out Pirelli offerings and…holy hell what an annoying website to try and understand their tire models, sizes, colors, rubber compounds, casing tech. Just garbage to try and narrow it down at all.

When companies utilize spider charts to characterize their tires is when I close the tab.

If you get a pair, I’m interested in seeing if it follows Maxxis’ chronically undersized measurements. A 2.3WT would fit my bill nicely.

I was really surprised that the 2.5 Assegai measured 2.5" on i29 rims (knob-to-knob).

The tire that the fellow reviewed above was undersized

So, I ordered some GP5K TR AS back in… May. Back-ordered. The date has slipped a dozen times are so. Now they’re saying 10/23 and I don’t believe 'em. Thing is, I ordered cream wall. Black wall is shipping. Should I just bite the bullet and go for those? Past experience waiting on the cream wall GP5K was not good.

i think you go through tires enough that you should just get both!

Those restock dates are meaningless atmo. I wanted to tell you this months ago. Those tires are never gonna see the light of day. IIRC also blackwall vs tanwall is not just an aesthetic thing but results in a slightly different tire, though I couldn’t tell you in what way they would differ. I recall some models of tires being heavier/lighter depending on sidewall color.

I think I waited over a year for an earlier version of the cream wall gp5k and eventually gave up, so yeah, I believe you. I’m sure what I’m getting are “promise dates” and well, this is the bike industry.

We just got our first shipment of 35 GP5AS. Might have to try them.

I just ordered the black ones today. I’m stoked on the wet grip. BRR seems to think the 35 has a softer compound than the other sizes.
