Souplesse Casings and Bike Soup - The Tire Thread

I think the concern is getting latex based sealant all over himself and having a nasty reaction.

I just avoid latex altogether. I can minimize contact when setting the tire up but Iā€™d rather not risk the contact if anything happens when riding around.

Looks like there are two finish line products, one of which is latex free.

I carry gloves in my spares kit but I still wind up covered in latex any time Iā€™m forced to break the bead on the side of the road. Iā€™d avoid it too if I had an allergy. Dealing with Rolandā€™s egg allergy has really opened my eyes to what a drag dealing with a bad allergy can be and his isnā€™t even that bad!

do NOT use this one for tubeless

itā€™s great in tubes and awful in tubeless

the WTB sealant works pretty well. admittedly i donā€™t have too much experience with different types of sealant, but iā€™ve been using it on all my tubeless bikes for around a year with no issues

Whatā€™s a good mid range road tire? Bike will only fit 28 f 25 r.

anyone know how big the GP5000AS TR ā€œ35sā€ get on an i25 rim? or for that matter what good all-the-way-slick ~40mm 700c TL tires are these days?

Schwalbe one.

A workmate and his buddy were doing the 3000 km Tour Aotearoa and his runnies assploded, running tubes. Miles away from any bike shops. Someones wife had to do a massive detour to help him out.

Impressive destruction! Those casings really have no business having knobs on them.

Donā€™t bother w RH. Honestly, weā€™ve had terrible luck w Compass/RH. Ultradynamico is way better. Easy to tubeless up. If you need extra sidewalls, the thicker sidewall tire is still nice. Michelin has put out some really nice offerings the past year or so. The Terratrail/Speed are nice tyres.

seems pretty unanimous.

no ultradynamico for me, looking for something in the ~700x32 roadway but not something thatā€™s going to kill me for riding on gravel

Good to hear about Michelin. Been wanting to try something thatā€™s not Panaracer made (though I have Gravellings on like every bike)

New Conti stuff is really good too. Terra Hardpack in 650x50 is my current favorite.

I have yet to personally try them but feedback on the new Terra Speed is really good too.

I love my 48mm Strada Biancas. Theyā€™re nice tires atmo and at least the 48s werenā€™t hard to mount at all. I did slice one irreparably on a piece of bottle glass once, but it was a huge piece of glass, woulda killed any tire.

Iā€™m on the 700x40 terra speed and really like them, my rear 700x35 was the first tire I legitimately wore out but I really liked it while it lasted.
