My first read was that they would be pretty sick tires on my LHT lol But for real Schwalbe discontinued the Marathon Supreme and while the Marathon Almotion TLEs haven’t been bad, I have been missing a 40mm-ish TLE road tire that is still tough enough for the bike lanes here.
My experience reflects yours. I’m not sure I’ve had a single flat on these. I’ve definitely smashed a bunch of gravel with 'em for which they’re… okay.

asked around elsewhere, but any favs/recommendations for 700C x 40-45mm tires that will mostly be ridden on pavement but see occasional SF bay area fire roads? Used to be my bread&butter size but I haven’t really run them since early 2020 and don’t know what’s good anymore.
I’m trying to get the Hutchinson Caracal Race, but it’s a euro thing, so I may not be successful. There’s the runny arse Snoqualmie Pass TC Extralight 44 if you’re down for such things or the next best thing, the Strada Bianca Pro TLR in 40mm. I’ve run the smaller version and it’s a great tire.
This all presumes the GP5k AS TR in 35mm is too small for your liking.
my friend wants something slightly knobby and is considering things like the Conti Terra Speed.
Those Huchinsons do look like the kind of thing they’re looking for

Do good 650x42 tires that don’t cost a fortune exist?
I’m probably gonna get IRC Boken Plus 650bx42mm when I wear out my last set of Hetres. Reviews are all very favourable. Width? Wire or folding?
Folding bead kojak was one of my favorite 700x wide tires. I had better flat luck with them than marathon supremes, and they’re a little supple too.
