interesting but also 568g
Those have been around a while. They fail the Tarck test, but word from two people who rode them this winter is that they have pretty good wet weather grip.
in 650? That’s the first time I’ve seen them in that size.
They’re been available since summer or fall of last year.
Wow, totally missed those.
So +150 grams from Runny Arse 48s
Aside from cost savings I don’t see why? Even the cost savings isn’t a big deal unless you run through a ton of tires
Should I put a set of RTPs on my Schwinn? The Maxxis things on there are just about roached.
Also, are these gravkings trash in 700x43? I’d sure love to run some ridiculous blue/green tires on my wolverine.
I’ve found that 700x32 gravelkings are kinda fucking trash, can’t comment on the bigger and more colorful ones. they seem like different tires in size and tread pattern though, not sure why they’re traded under the same name
I’d be interesting in fondling the fish scale tread. Looks similar to the tread i’ve seen on the bottom of some boating shoes for grippy-ness on wet decks.
Would love to hear what people think about these tables, I’ve been looking for something that can guide me on tubeless pressure, beyond “roughly 5-10psi lower than with tubes”. I think I may graph all of this so that I can understand it better, and maybe extrapolate to whatever 21mm road tubeless nonsense I’ll probably be into by the end of summer.
Also Enve made this thing:
Is that a real problem? I just assumed that most spoke holes & nipples were not a perfect air seal
I think they mention road tires in there somewhere - maybe they realized or were worried that a short blast of high pressure air could do a number on their rims - which aren’t exactly pressure vessels.
I think it’s better to DIY 15-25% sag and then back into what the air pressure value is. But the spreadsheets look fine, here’s a graph of the first one.
oooh thanks, that’s nice. I generally go by feel, but also eyeball the tire to see if it’s really squished out. around 20% sag makes sense.
Tarck approved 26” tires? Does runny arse even make that size anymore (not that I’d buy them if they did)?
Tubeless? Knobby or street?
Since you’re asking about RH I assume street-ish
Tubeless
RH Rat Trap Pass
Schwalbe Marathon Almotion (Microskin / TL-Easy model)
Tubed
Tioga Powerblock S-spec (folding)
This is a commonly asked question. I will put something in the spread-sheeeeit ! one day… maxxis DTH is another one that is often mentioned.
Street and and tubes.
I saw the powerblocks in;the sheet, wondering if any other contenders have appeared.
