Though how big is the market for a Cedric Gracia XC tire?
Much smaller than the market for the RTP.
Debating trying something more fancy than Horizons, are the Runny Hearse babby shoe pass and switchback hill tires beyond the yolo state for tubelessing? Would probably be doing the standard casing on WTB i23 KOM rims.
Panaracer and CatEye are two companies who canāand doāmake really good products but basically refuse to change their way of thinking to successfully compete in the US market.
How so?
My recent experience with a pair of tubeless Gravelkings was pretty miserable, but I did like the T Servs I had on my commuter for a while.

No personal experience but my friend just pulled off his BSP ELs and installed gravel Kings.
Initially it took him several tries to get BSPs to work tubeless because they kept eating sealantā¦and then he flatted almost every ride anywayā¦and the final nail in the coffin was when they were finally done eating sealant they had stretched out so much he couldnāt get to seat tubeless anymore.
I may try to grab them from him and try to mount sometime tho.
Which ones were flatting? The BSPs or the GKs?
Iāve just gone from BSP standard tubed to GK 42 tubeless. Front tyre has been a bit finicky to get to seal (losing a few psi overnnight) but the ride feels as good or better than the BSPs at this stage. Wider straight out of the box too.
Just saying this again for emphasis: I recently gave up on some 32mm gravel kings because one wouldnāt mount and the other took tons of sealant and still loses 25 psi a day. I have not had this many problems with similar tires
If you want easy tubeless setup check out Teravail. While not as supple as RH, they ride nicely and are available via Q.

Ugh, thanks, sort of what I was remembering.

available via Q.
Not that it matters or means anything, but Teravail is actually another Q brand.
Babyshoe lights:
They ride well. They weep a lot of sealant early on. I wouldnāt recommend them. They are expensive and donāt feel $80 per set better than gravel kings or something thatās a turd. The wide low pressure thing helps more than wanky fancy tires.

Correct. Theyāre nice folks who seem pretty sensible when it comes to producing tires that people actually want to ride.

Sorry, BSPs would flat constantly. He is running GKs tubed now and seems satisfied.
Should I keep my 28 and 32mm tires tubeless or put tubes in?
Thanks, seems like marginal gains for lots of $$$. Definitely have some regrets putting Naches Pass tires on the basket bike instead of going directly to Powerblocks instead. Tarck bear showed me the path, but I didnāt walk it.
I probably just need to stop swapping between bikes so much and ride the day ruiner more to try to figure out what it is about the Horizons that Iām not liking and whether or not thereās something I can do about that.
I mean if you have the cash floating around and want to sink it on bike stuff. Compass tires are better but whether they are worth the premium is up to you. To most of us they are a an indulgence. Thereās nothing wrong with them. But they donāt bring joy commensurate with their cost.

Iām getting better at recognizing this. Lower amounts of disposable income since buying the house also helps.
Years ago I would have done it without much thought.
