Souplesse Casings and Bike Soup - The Tire Thread

that’s what schwalbe tires cost when ordered from europe

But Jenson USA is USA!

It’s OE, which means it was made for a manufacturer, rather than for retail. Whether that means they skimped in quality in some manner, I cannot say, but that’s certainly why it is so cheap.

It says Tubeless Easy / Snakeskin / PaceStar so it should be a normal high-end tire

Schwalbe does make shitty OEM models like the “Rapid Rob” that use waaay cheaper materials in the molds from the previous generation Racing Ralph

Grey is the new tan.

is it saying it has graphene in the compound?

Sorry, I can’t hear you over the tire’s hot patch.

I don’t know if it actually makes a difference, but the little hexagons are thinner on their leading edges. Vitto claims that you get less rolling resistance but better braking, too. Might also be laterally stiff but vertically compliant.

Ramped knobs can’t hurt, even tiny ones.

Is there a performance difference between the black and colored gravel Kings? The nile blue are looking really good.

Theoretically not as good in the wet.

Was it in this thread I tbeorized black smooth tread is extra supple while knobbies and skinwall were less supple.

Weigh those vittoria!!

557 grams for the 650 x 47 (terreno dry).

well, my only hope was that they would not weigh in at the specified weight

I’m afraid to weigh these:

I’m kind of amazed that the packaging for tires has always just been a zip tie and cardboard tube. Seems pretty lame for something that can be $50-60 at a shop.

The less packaging the better atmo.

I’d take them in a greasy sandwich bag, fancy packaging is a con

Backing this. Based on conversations I’ve had, it’s hard coming up with something that displays well, ships easily, and is recyclable.
