I’m really impressed with my Pelago, but my past rack experience has only been Blackburn.
I have an 8 pack on the disc trucker. Very heavy and lots of fasteners, but no complaints so far.
At least two trackers I know have the capability to build you a sweet ass rack.
i really like the velo orange porteur rack, too. i’ve used mine for bikepacking + messenger work and had no issues. looks like they’re out of stock right now but may be back in stock soon?
There was an angry Russian with a good fixie shop on grand st that sold this to me. It’s unmarked. Had a fake leather tag riveted around one of the cross members.it always drew comments at the shops and the no-it-alls would argue with me about what it’s made of. It’s sub 800g and magnets don’t stick to it. Would be easy to add Blackburn struts to mount it to your mids $20+ shipping
I remember the angry Russian! I never knew that accent was Russian, though.
Can’t remember if he was Ivan or Igor but I really loved his scary shop
We recently had a new shop open here that sells mostly refurbished old 26” mtbs called Igor Does My Bike.
It’s an A+ shop in my book. Igor is Russian but he doesn’t seem angry at all.
If you look back far enough in a thread you may just find that you already bought a rack for this task!
We
God I would love to open a bike shop like that. The two shops in town are The Specialized Store that I was traumatized by working at, and the white industries and klampers on a surly store which costs more and takes longer to get service done at.
Yeah but artisanal vibes
Yeah, I really hope he makes it work. This kind of shop is rare and the world needs more shops where a person can get a fixed up old Trek for $250.
All of us would like that suckers contact info
I’m not sure if you’re referencing me as the seller a sucker or him the buyer as a sucker.
I feel I got ripped off for the hours of labor I put into this drilling out the crankset and removing the seized BB. Also he made me swap the thumbies I’d already installed for trigger shifters.
That said if he ONLY spent 4x as much this REI bike is a much better value IMO: https://www.rei.com/product/220761/co-op-cycles-adv-11-bike
He did immediately clamp a seat stay kickstand on that makes my eye twitch
I was definitely calling him a sucker cause I usually have to find someone to giveaway my old mtb projects to.
I sometimes pick up kids bikes to fix and give away. Kids are much less picky.
Damn here I was thinking I helped a buddy out.
Good news though he asked me for rack/pannier/fender suggestions yesterday. The bike bug seems to be sticking.
He’s German so I recommended Ortlieb/Tubus/SKS for him
you did.
