no grills that I could see. Instead, they were playing naked volleyball. Some of them had socks on!

They just call them beach parties

Its more of an eastern thing, but some of the public parks and lakes around Berlin have FKKsections as well (designated by a small sign on the tree that you’ll never see until you’re wading in body parts)

TC love German saunas which are mandatory “no textiles”

Also, naked hiking is a thing here

I wear a towel in the sauna usually so that is a textile but sometimes someone comes in clothes and it pisses me off so much. Like wtf are you doing this is a sauna dipshit

When Ash and I were in Sweden last year, we blundered into a sauna wearing our swim suits and our american modesty. We were greeted by derisive looks from the locals.
We did the rest of the saunas on the trip al fresco and it was a much better experience even when an ultra runner showed up having just run the distance we’d hiked in three days in one. He ate a huge reindeer sausage as he took his saunaed.

Picturing someone walking in off the street in overalls, boots, and a hoody like “my, it’s sure warm in here huh?”

Swimsuits I can understand. Just shows you are maybd new to sauna. Women often wear bottoms in coed situations and I get that I guess. But every once in a while someone at the gym wears their gym clothes in. Prettt gross.

Sort of like Americans don’t know what Speedos are for

Some folks prefer a tent for their banana

I bring a towel into the sauna to sit on, even if it’s full nude like japanese onsen + naked part in korean spas. Going to onsen when we were in japan was awesome – we staying in this little town known for their hot spring and just strolled around from onsen to onsen, eating tons of food along the way (because you get really hungry sitting in really hot water)

possibly dehydrated as well

Can you take snacks into any of these spas?

Snacking in a sauna while wearing clothes is the most american thing I can imagine.

Like a sauna sounds nice but a sauna with a burger and a shake? Oh god wake me up and shake my hand pleas.

No, food in a sauna is not a good idea

There is very little nudism in NZ, but this dude, below, has been busted for nude running in the bush before. This year he did the 55 mile segment of beach in the Tour Aotearoa as pictured. Other people were bitching about sand in their drive chains. He’s a bit of an advocate.

Is his entire saddle a chamois? Dude’s mental with no fenders.

Fenders wouldn’t have been much use for the other 2920 kms, well a fair part of it.

I feel like this is prime material for @BicyclePears

olutta saunassa

Did you guys miss my story about a dude walking into a sauna in Lapland nowhere eating a foot long sausage with his own sausage on display?
