Thanks to the fast ferry, I’m learning a lot.
I think I’m going to be learning a lot about it for the first time next winter.
You’re home, it’s cool.
tarck is about strong opinions.
I’ve put 3 bikes through the midwest salt/winter torture test. The alu frame seems to be the only one that is not permanently damaged or in need of a complete refinish every 1-2 years. Of course that’s my hambiek, which I take extra care of, so who knows.
Still, taking a once pretentious frame like this and making it a salt grinder feels like fun somehow.
the titanium will be fine- it’s whatever you thread into it that will get right fucked. anti seize is a must
Good info. Still gonna think of it as ritual frame sacrifice with a 2-3 year turnaround time.
We’ll see.
I like this idea, my bikes last way too long.
Excuse the busy photo. Thinking about trading this in to pros closet or the like. Fairdale good shop, has the 11 speed etap, hollowgram carbon wheels, mostly ritchey cockpit. Would probably keep the saddle and throw a whatever one on there. I did swap the sram force crankset back on so it wouldn’t have the dura-ace one. Pretty light for a steel bike, 17lbs as pictured. Worth putting on ebay? Some dude ad almost the same build and was asking 2500 a couple of months ago but that seems pretty optimistic to me.
someone on tarck needs that
Would definitely negotiate a tarck homie price.
TPC dudes are cool but they won’t give you nearly what that bike is worth, and especially so now that the original owners have lost control to corporate types
2500 is a reasonable asking price these days. Put it up for sale before it starts to get cold
2500 on paceline
This, put on paceline.
Be prepared for questions about parting it out.
someone asked me to sell them just the fork off my gunnar
Sell it for the same listing price and the rest of the bike comes free?
size???
54cm!
um
hello gary
i won’t have $2500 until spring when my wife is done with grad school and gets a job, but i’d pay you a deposit to keep that beauty until then
i tried to fall in love, i really did. but rim brake carbon x salt collabo scared me off.
