What did you do to your bike today?

Pretty sure these will be loose ball, but that probably won’t be your problem anyway.

I reckon it’s your rear tyre on the guard. Get a piece of tissue, wrap over tyre then rotate through the guard, it’ll catch at the touch point.

That’s a good idea! So you’re not just a pretty face.

Spicy curry, now with extra spice. (thx Blakey & JLN)

Finally took the fat chance to the lbs to have them dremel off the borked crankarm, went to put a replacement parts bin one on and realized the fucking bontrager already on there has the square taper parallel to the crank arm, as opposed to every fucking other crank I’ve ever seen. So pulled a crank off some POS I was gonna sell on craigslist, but now I’ve got silver cranks on a bike with mostly silver parts.

Took it for a spin in the woods. Damn I missed riding this thing.

Took the nerd crank off the Space Horse and put the Tiagra thing back on. New chain, too. Just need to swap the stem, clean it, and hopefully can get it sold quickly.

Started getting the Reign SX ready for sale by:

  • pulling my OG -93 Flite off it and place by a parts bin san marco caymano.
  • pulled the Hope stem of it and put back the original stem.
  • started swapping Hope brakes to Deore XT’s which came in the mail.
  • swapped Ice tech rotors for Centerline 200’s.
  • took purpano hope seat clamp off and replaced with a black one.

Then I decided to tinker some with my 45650B which will be my only mtb until the Starling becomes reality.

Love your weight weenie shakes

#17709

seatpost plus saddle combo is fiah

#17710

Was going to start working on Fatty Stripper tubeless stuff but I can’t find the fucking valve stems that came with strips. Where the hell did I put those damn things???

#17711

Got my 29+ wheelset back from the shop - they fished the 2-year old tubeless goo clump monsters out and re-filled/re-sealed 'em.

Tomorrow, the Mukluk gets put together for bike camping duty. I didn’t do that enough last year, so now I’m getting ready for some spring trips.

I got tired of the whole ‘seatbag sway’ and the difficulty of packing the damn thing repeatedly, so I picked up a PDW Bindle Rack. Gonna try that out and see how well it handles my Hilleberg.

Also measuring the frame for a custom bag. Salsa, in their infinite whatever, didn’t make one for the Mukluk. So I’m gonna go back to the dude that made one for Snowaguch.

I hated my bindle rack with a passion.

Hope you have better luck.

Why?

#17714

low quality bolt stripped out on the first trip

scratches my seatpost

bag kept falling out on fast rocky descents

it’s clunky and annoying to strap up

I’ll just deal with the sway.

#17715

Noted. I’ll grab a better bolt (saw that in a couple other places) and see if I can anticipate the rest.

#17716

Brooks, I love that whole damn bike

#17717

started putting this parts bin 26" troll bike together.

will start lacing up some of the dirt cheap alex tubeless rims to hubs cut out of busted repair wheels. if the whole drop bars thing works i’ll consider ponying up for a tiagra group. otherwise the paint matched 120mm stem goes back on with some backswept bars.

Did you check the measurements on their bags? I used a parsley bag on my troll and it fit perfect because surly makes a bunch of their front triangles the same. I wouldn’t be surprised if an off the rack relevate bag fit.
