What did you do to your crosscheck today?

i was going to buy a bunch of stuff at the mash store before everything shut down, but their storefront is only open 2 days/week, and not even weekend days

New purble housing and brakes on the tandem.

Cobbled together enough spacers to get the Duo on the new day/ruiner fork, only slightly kludgy until I order proper hardware. Also got the front fender back on. Still need to get the platform rack modified. At least I can carry crap now.

Threw a bag on it and rode to the office to pick up a couple of things, raid the break room for chips, and buy a coke from our discount vending machine.

Super duper loving the new dyno.

Put the kid seat on the back of the xtracycle, took a test ride on my recently rebuilt commuter with the fam. It’s nice to be back doin bike shit again.

Pulled the triple crank off the Katu and replaced it with the double version of the same crank, brought the chainline in almost 3mm to a better 49mm. Replaced existing chainring bolts with proper single ring bolts.

Triple crank is going in the bin for future Lorry dithering.

Got a surly fork off Facebook for dithering

First it went on the trashbar, which solved some of the toe overlap but this bike is still terrible to ride

Took it off of there, put it on the sad chameleon and now I love it. Spent some time shortening the stays for the basket even. Dunno if cheap 26 disc Dyno wheels are a thing.

You can definitely build one on the cheap. There is a new Shimano jammer with a solid axle for cheap as heck. Works fine.

Since we’re still locked down I have to keep tinkering. Stripped the drivetrain off the cheap Breezer Doppler to get the gearing I want on the Coffee Grinder. That went great. Now I’m messing with the leftovers.

Tarcklocrossed on some trails. Learned that I need a dropper for it. It’s 180 able which is bad news for my rear wheel.

Nu campy 11 shakes installed on my 9s setup. Shifting is 85% over 90% of the range. Braking is waaaay better, these pull a lot less cable than the trp levers they replaced.

What’s keeping you at 9s?

This cassette still has some life left so :man_shrugging:t2:

Ordered some new wet dicks for the Bullitt and mounted my (1) Hayes CX Pro caliper until they get here. Had to remove the fender stay on NDS to fit the caliper.

Finally trying out the C17 I picked up for it sometime last year

Classic dither, did some handlebar swaps. Cruisers > risers on the fixie, risers > bullmoose on the fat chance, now more excited to ride both when it stops raining.

got the gravel cassette and clutch dangler fitted on the endpoint, accidentally bent the quick link because I couldn’t find proper pliers so now I have to locate another one. limit range seems to work but there is some side to side translation when pivoting the cage, which I’m not used to seeing on a regular dangler.

Scraped, brushed, sanded and painted the rusty ass on my former xtra soon to be clyde.

Clearly, I did a very slipshod job of it.

Putting some paint on an old bike that was all rusty so it doesn’t stay rusty. And also painting over that jacked up slap guard. Whatever. I ain’t an artiste.

What is the opposite of beausage?
