What did you do to your crosscheck today?

straight post on that frame hurts me deeply

Embrace the wide range cassette life.

I think these have a more slack st than most road bikes by a degree or two? Idk someone told me that. Either way I mostly ride track bikes on the road so it’s already a lot more setback and longer reach than I typically ride so I gotta ease into this stuff lol.

Yeah they do. If you go setback and shorten the stem length a bit, you’ll have the true Greg LeMond :tm: experience.

Source: me riding a Poprad for a few years.

Though that stem is the aesthetic centrepiece of this bike IMO.

As aesthetically pleasing as gigantism of one limb (I apologize if anyone here suffers from huge something or other).

Bought a cheap hanging scale. Determined that this gnar mobile only weighs 32 lb. Then I learned that my Grinder weighs about 25.5. Those numbers in that order broke my brain.

I picked up my 1/2-new Instinct BC from the shop and put a Nü Tarck Bear on it.

The grey isn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. I’ll have to take some photos in the woods this weekend.

That exact sentiment is why I want to build a bike around some 130/140mm mutant in the brightest color I can find.

But wtf would I even do with a road bike.

oh yea, hard to see but stem has etching on it that says ā€œAGGRESSORā€ with a lil US flag. I’m not changing it if I can help it, it’s the weirdest and coolest vintage steel stem I own and I have a lot.

(but I’m gonna go on a longer ride this weekend and see if I actually need to toss the 110 Salsa I have on there instead)

Anyhoo I stand by liking more upright seat toobs and I don’t care what Greg Lemond thinks no matter how happy I am that he’s the only US tour winner.

It is your right as an American. And it kind of works on this bike.

But it will continue to anger me.

I too have some ridiculously long stems that I have never put on a bike.

I have one of those AGGRESSOR stems too! Mine is I think a 100 IIRC, saving it for whenever I rebuild my Novara and the tape dies, don’t want to unwrap the bars just to stem swap.

Ehh I’ve got 4-5 ritchey cranks in a few variants and don’t think I’ve paid more than $75 for a set

Stoked on the NIB double I got for $60 a few months ago. The logos were removed and I was the only bidder, which tells you all you need to know

Still the deadenders choice imo

Are any of them that nice gray color?

Milked tubes on two bikes with Finishline. Mmm, goopy.

Replaced some crappy SS hardware holding the Lorry platform/crate with some nicer zinc plated stuff.

It was 104* yesterday, already too hot to mess with much else in the garage. I miss having indoor bike space.

Rode it for the first time since putting on the m730 cranks

Wow all the bad pedaling sensation, drivetrain feedback, and constant noise was 100% attributable to the shifty old sugino crank and rings.

They were more fucked than I thought.

Rode the trials bike. Was able to get more comfortable with doing hops and drops.

Took off the brakes since they’re fucked and need bled and a possible leak fix. The nds isis crank was riding loose so it’s going to need to be replaced. Anyone have a left 170 isis crank arm.

buying 7400 dura-ace dangler/pushers for my polyvalent is sensible and sane, right?

I started looking for new pushers as all the ones I have in my junk pile are pretty clapped out

and I saw that big embossed DURA ACE and remembered how sweet it looks on bikes and the next thing you know

No. No it’s not. Get good, new shit.
